$Zn_{2}SiO_{4}$:Mn green phosphors doped with Mg for PDP were synthesized by solid state reaction method. $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}$:Mn, Mg phosphors with increasing Mg concentration were changed from Rhombohedral to Orthorhombic structure. Photoluminescence intensity of $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}$:Mn phosphors doped with Mg 0.5 mol was definitely higher than that of Mg non-doped sample. The enhanced luminescence with doping Mg in the $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}$:Mn phosphors was interpreted by the increase of energy transfer from host to Mn ions with substitution Mg for Zn in the $Zn_{2}SiO_{4}$:Mn host.

$(Zn_{1-x}Ca_x)_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphors doped with Ca were synthesized by solid state reaction method. $(Zn_{1-x}Ca_x)_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphors showed XRD patterns of Willemite structure. Also, $CaSiO_3$ structure and new peak near 610 nm in $(Zn_{1-x}Ca_x)_2SiO_4$:Mn with increasing value of x were observed from XRD and PL. The new peak near 610 nm in $(Zn_{1-x}Ca_x)_2SiO_4$:Mn with doping Ca was attributed to formation of $CaSiO_3$.

[ $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ ] green phosphors doped with $NH_4Cl$ and Al for PDP were synthesized by solid state reaction method. The luminescence of 532 nm in $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ phosphors was associated with $^4T_1{\to}^6A_1$ transition. Photoluminescence intensity of $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ doped with $NH_4Cl$ 15 mol% increased about two times as compared with that of $NH_4Cl$ non-doped sample. The color of the emission of Al-doped $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ phosphors changed to yellowish green.

$Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn green phosphors doped with Ga for PDP were synthesized by solid state reaction method. Photoluminescence measurements showed a new emission peak at around 600 nm for $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphors doped with Ga. Also, the luminescent color with doping $Ga^{3+}$ in the $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn phosphors changed to green from yellowish green. Consequently, the new peak and charge of the luminescent color in the $Zn_2SiO_4$:Mn, Ga phosphors were attributed to $^2E{\rightarrow}^6A_2$ transition of $Mn^{4+}$.
ZnO, II-VI group inorganic compound semi-conductor, has been receiving much attention due to its wide applications in various fields. Since the ZnO has 3.37 eV of a wide band gap and 60 meV of big excitation binding energy, it is well-known material for various uses such the optical property, a semi-conductor, magnetism, antibiosis, photocatalyst, etc. When applied in the field of photocatalyst, many research studies have been actively conducted regarding magnetic materials and the core-shell structure to take on the need of recycling used materials. In this paper, magnetic core-shell ZnFe2O4@SiO2 nanoparticles (NPs) have been successfully synthesized through three steps. In order to analyze the structural characteristics of the synthesized substances, X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), and Fourier transform infrared spectroscopy (FT-IR) were used. The spinel structure of ZnFe2O4 and the wurtzite structure of ZnO were confirmed by XRD, and ZnO production rate was confirmed through the analysis of different concentrations of the precursors. The surface change of the synthesized materials was confirmed by SEM. The formation of SiO2 layer and the synthesis of ZnFe2O4@ZnO@SiO2 NPs were finally verified through the bond of Fe-O, Zn-O and Si-O-Si by FT-IR. The magnetic property of the synthesized materials was analyzed through the vibrating sample magnetometer (VSM). The increase and decrease in the magnetism were respectively confirmed by the results of the formed ZnO and SiO2 layer. The photocatalysis effect of the synthesized ZnFe2O4 @ZnO@SiO2 NPs was experimented in a black box (dark room) using methylene blue (MB) under UV irradiation.
Characteristics of nano-structured $SiO_2:Zn$ hollow powders prepared in the micro drop fluidized reactor process were investigated with respect to bandgap energy and surface activity. The $SiO_2:Zn$ hollow powders were successfully prepared continuously in the one step process with reasonable production efficiency, with varying the amount of THAM (tris(hydroxymethyl)-aminomethane) additive and concentration of $Zn^{2+}$ ions. The doping of $Zn^{2+}$ ions into $SiO_2$ lattice led to the reduction of bandgap energy by forming the acceptor level of $Zn^{2+}$ below the conduction band of $Si^{4+}$ ions. The hollow shape also contributed to reduce the bandgap energy of $SiO_2:Zn$ powders. The doping of $Zn^{2+}$ ions into $SiO_2$ hollow powders could enhance the surface activity by forming SiO-H stretching and oxygen vacancies at the surface of $SiO_2:Zn$ powders.

ZnO thin films were deposited on p-type 4H-SiC substrate by pulsed laser deposition. ZnO nanowires were formed on p-type 4H-SiC substrate by furnace. Ti/Au electrodes were deposited on ZnO thin film/SiC and ZnO nanowire/SiC structures, respectively. Structural and crystallographical properties of the fabricated ZnO thin film/SiC and ZnO nanowire/SiC structures were investigated by field emission scanning electron microscope and X-ray diffraction. In this work, resistance and sensitivity of ZnO thin film/SiC gas sensor and ZnO nanowire/SiC gas sensor were measured at $300^{\circ}C$ with various CO gas concentrations (0%, 90%, 70%, and 50%). Resistance of gas sensor decreases at CO gas atmosphere. Sensitivity of ZnO nanowire/SiC gas sensor is twice as big as sensitivity of ZnO thin film/SiC gas sensor.

Green-emitting $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ phosphors for PDP(Plasma Display Panel) application were synthesized by colloidal seed-assisted spray pyrolysis process. The codoping with $Gd^{3+}/Li^+$, which replaces $Si^{4+}$ site in the willemite structure, was performed to improve the luminous properties of the $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ phosphors. The particles prepared by spray pyrolysis process using fumed silica colloidal solution had a spherical shape, small particle size, narrow size distribution, and non-aggregation characteristics. The $Gd^{3+}/Li^+$ codoping amount affected the luminous characteristics of $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ phosphors. The codoping with proper amounts of $Gd^{3+}/Li^+$ improved both the photoluminescence efficiency and decay time of $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ phosphor particles. In spray pyrolysis, the post-treatment temperature is another factor controlling the luminous performance of $Zn_2SiO_4:Mn$ phosphors. The $Zn_{1.9}SiO_4:Mn_{0.1}$ phosphor particles containing 0.1 mol% $Gd^{3+}/Li^+$ co-dopant had a 5% higher PL intensity than the commercial product and 5.7 ms decay time after post-treatment at $1,145^{\circ}C$.
ZnO thin films were deposited on amorphous slide glass and $SiO_2$/Si substrates by Facing Targets Sputtering method with sputtering current 0.1~0.8 A, working pressure 0.5~3 mTorr and substrate temperature R.T~$400^{\circ}C$. When the sputtering current was 0.4 A, working pressure was 0.5 mTorr and substrate temperature was 30$0^{\circ}C$, ${\Delta}{\Theta}_{50}$ value of ZnO/glass and ZnO/$SiO_2$/si thin film was $3.8^{\circ}$ and $2.98^{\circ}$, respectively. In these conditions, we knew that ZnO thin film were deposited with good c-axis orientation on amorphous slide glass by FTS system.

In the present work, we have studied low temperature sintering and microwave dielectric properties of $ZnAl_2O_4$-zinc borosilicate (ZBS, 65ZnO-$25B_2O_3-10SiO_2$) glass composites. The focus of this paper was on the improvement of sinterability, low dielectric constant, and on the theoretical proof regarding of microwave dielectric properties in $ZnAl_2O_4$-ZBS glass composites, respectively. The $ZnAl_2O_4$ with 60 vo1% ZBS glass ensured successful sintering below $900^{\circ}C$. It is considered that the non-reactive liquid phase sintering (NPLS) occurred. In addition, $ZnAl_2O_4$ was observed in the $ZnAl_2O_4$-(x)ZBS composites, indicating that there were no reactions between $ZnAl_2O_4$ and ZBS glass. $ZnB_2O_4\;and\;Zn_2SiO_4$ with the willemite structure as the secondary phase was observed in the all $ZnAl_2O_4$-(x)ZBScomposites. In terms of dielectric properties, the application of the $ZnAl_2O_4$-(x)ZBS composites sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ to LTCC substrate were shown to be appropriate; $ZnAl_2O_4$-60ZBS (${\varepsilon}_r$= 6.7, $Q{\times}f$ value= 13,000 GHz, ${\tau}_f$= -30 ppm/$^{\circ}C$). Also, in this work was possible theoretical proof regarding of microwave dielectric properties in $ZnAl_2O_4$-(x)ZBS composites.
