Simultaneous Improvement of Dimensional Stability and Ionic Conductivity of QPAE/TiO2-x Composite Membranes According to TiO2 Content Control for Anion Exchange Membrane Fuel Cells (음이온교환막 연료전지를 위한 TiO2 함량 조절에 따른 QPAE/TiO2-x 복합막의 치수안정성 및 이온전도도 동시 개선 연구)

  • A series of QPAE/TiO2-x (x = 1, 4, 7 and 10 wt%) organic/inorganic composite membranes were prepared as electrolyte membranes for alkaline anion exchange membrane fuel cells by controlling the content of inorganic filler with quaternized poly(arylene ether) (QPAE) random copolymer. Among the prepared QPAE/TiO2-x organic/inorganic composite membranes, the highest ionic conductivity was 26.6 mS cm-1 at 30℃ in QPAE/TiO2-7 composite membrane, which was improvement over the ionic conductivity value of 6.4 mS cm-1 (at 30℃) of the pristine QPAE membrane. Furthermore, the water uptake, swelling ratio, ionic exchange capacity, and thermal property of QPAE/TiO2-x composite membranes were improved compared to the pristine QPAE membrane. The results of these studies suggest that the fabricated QPAE/TiO2-x composite membranes have good prospects for alkaline anion exchange membrane fuel cell applications.

  • The effect of $Y^{3+}$ addition to $SrTiO_3:Pr^{3+}$ on the photoluminescence and cathodoluminescence was studied. We discovered that light emitting levels of $Pr^{3+}$ vary by addition of $Y^{3+}$. In $(Sr_{1-x}Y_x)TiO_3:Pr^{3+}$, both the green and red emission are discovered while the red emission prevails in $Sr(Ti_{1-x}Y_x)O_3:Pr^{3+}$ . $Sr(Ti_{1-x}Y_x)O_3:Pr^{3+}$ shows enhancement of red emission by two kinds of enhancement process.

Effect of $CaTiO_3$Additions on Microwave Dielectric Properties in $BaWO_4$-$Mg_2$$SiO_4$Ceramics ($BaWO_4$-$Mg_2$$SiO_4$세라믹스의 $CaTiO_3$첨가에 따른 고주파 유전특성)

  • 10 이하의 저유전율을 갖는 (1-x)BaWO$_4$-xMg$_2$SiO$_4$(x=0.1~0.9) 세라믹스의 미세구조와 고주파 유전특성을 조사하였다. (1-x)BaWO$_4$-xMg$_2$SiO$_4$(x=0.1~0.9) 세라믹스는 정방정(tetragonal) 구조를 가진다. 0.1BaWO$_4$-0.9Mg$_2$SiO$_4$세라믹스는 BaWO$_4$$Mg_2$SiO$_4$의 상들이 공존하는 혼합상을 보였으며, $Mg_2$SiO$_4$가 이차사으로 형성된 것이 관찰되었다. 120$0^{\circ}C$~140$0^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 동안 소결된 (1-x)BaWO$_4$-xMg$_2$SiO$_4$(x=0.1~0.9) 세라믹스는 $\varepsilon$$_{r}$=6.37~8.21, Q.f=15000~99422 그리고 $ au$$_{f}$=73.9~48.9 ppm/$^{\circ}C$의 고주파 유전특성을 가졌다. $\tau$$_{f}$를 보정하기 위해, CaTiO$_3$(1,5 wt%)가 (1-x)BaWO$_4$-xMg$_2$SiO$_4$(x$\geq$0.9) 세라믹스에 첨가되었다. 135$0^{\circ}C$에서 2시간 동안 소결된 0.1BaWO$_4$-0.9Mg$_2$SiO$_4$+CaTiO$_3$(5 wt%) 세라믹스는 $\varepsilon$$_{r}$=7.3, Q.f=30532 그리고 $\tau$$_{f}$=-30 ppm/$^{\circ}C$의 고주파 유전특성을 얻었다. 얻었다.

  • Pyroelectric properties and relaxation phenomena in Pb(Mg /sub 1/3/Nb/sub 2/3/)O₃-PbTiO₃ solid solution system were studied to establish the phase relation of the solid solution system. The dielectric constants and the pyroelectric coefficients of (1-x)PMN-xPT (x = 0.1∼0.4) system were investigated in the phase transition temperature range of -40°C∼200°C. The freezing temperature was calculated by fitting the experimental data with the Vogel-Fulcher relation. With all the experimental data, a modified phase diagram of the (1-x)PMN-xPT system was suggested.

  • The influence of an electric field on the combustion synthesis of ${Ti}_{5}{Si}_{3}$-x ${ZrO}_{2)$(0 $\leq$ x $\leq$0.6)was investigated. Composite of X $\geq$0.45 can only be synthesized in the presence of an electric field. Although in the absence of an electri field the system with x = 0.45 and x=0.6 can sustain a nonsteady combustion wave, the reaction is not complete. That is, an unstable wave propagates to the middle of the sample and them becomes extinguished. Wave velocity o the ${Ti}_{5}{Si}_{3}-{ZrO}_{2}$ Composites slightly increases with the imposition of external field across the sample.

  • Yttrium(Y)-substituted bismuth titanate $(Bi_{4-x},Y_x)Ti_3O_{12}$ [x=0, 0.25, 0.5, 0.75, 1](BYT) thin films were deposited using an RF sputtering method on the $Pt/TiO_2/SiO_2/Si$ substrates. The structural properties and electrical properties of yttrium-substituted $(Bi_4-xYx)Ti_3O_{12}$ thin films were analyzed. The remanent polarization of $(Bi_4-xYx)Ti_3O_{12}$ films increased with increasing Y-content. The $(Bi_{3.25}Y_{0.75})Ti_3O_{12}$ films fabricated using a top Au electrode showed saturated polarization-electric field(P-E) switching curves with a remanent polarization(Pr) of $8{\mu}C/cm^2$ and coercive field (Ec) of 53 kV/cm at an applied voltage of 7 V. The $(Bi_{3.25}Y_{0.75})Ti_3O_{12}$ films exhibited fatigue-free behavior up to $4.5{\times}10^{11}$ read/write switching cycles at a frequency of 1MHz.

  • The effect of the addition on the densification, low temperature sintering, and microwave dielectric properties of the Ca[($Li_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}$)$_{1-x}$$Ti_{x}$]$O_{3-{\delta}}$/(CLNT) was investigated. $Bi_2O_3$ additives improved the dencification and reduced the sintering temperature from $1150^{\circ}C$ to $900^{\circ}C$ of CLNT microwave dielectric ceramics. As increasing $Bi_2O_3$ contents, the dielectric constants and bulk density were increased. The quality factor, however, was decreased slighty. The temperature coefficients of the resonant frequency shifted positive value as increasing $Bi_2O_3$ contents. The dielectric properties of Ca[($Li_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}$)$_{1-x}$$Ti_{x}$]$O_{3-{\delta}}$ and Ca[($Li_{1/3}Nb_{2/3}$)$_{0.8}Ti_{0.2}$]$O_{3-{\delta}}$ with 5wt% $Bi_2O_3$ sintered at $900^{\circ}C$ for 3h were $\varepsilon_{r}$=20, 35 Q.$f_{0}$=6500, 11,000 GHz, $\tau_{f}$=4, 13 ppm/$^{\circ}C$, respectively.

The Microwave Dielectric Properties of MgTiO-CaTiO$_3$ Ceramics Dielectrics and Fabrication of GPS Antenna (GPS용 Patch 안테나 제작 및 $MgTiO_3-CaTiO_3$계 세라믹 유전체 고주파 유전특성)

  • Microwave dielectric properties of the $MgTiO_3-CaTiO_3$ ceramics were investigated for GPS antenna fabrication. (1-X) $MgTiO_3-X CaTiO_3$ ceramics with X=7 mol% sintered at $1400^{\circ}C$ exhibited can be dielectric constant of 20.6, the quality factor of 52,500 and the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency of -1.5 [ppm/$^{\circ}C$]. The results of $0.93MgTiO_3-0.070CaTiO_3$ ceramics with $P_2O_5$/ 0.6 wt% sintered at $1250^{\circ}C$ exhibited can be dielectric constant of 21, the quality factor of 58,000 and the temperature coefficient of resonant frequency of 2.6 [ppm/${\circ}C$]. The size, insertion loss, center frequency and band width of GPS antenna were $20.5{\times}20.5{\times}6[mm]$,-10(dB) and 1575.42(MHz) respectively. The insertion loss, center frequency and band width of the fabricated GPS antenna were -11 (dB), 1579(MHz) and 22(MHz) respectively. The center frequency was higher than design result, but other characteristics of GPS antenna were similar to the results of design result.

The Effect of Calcination Temperature of RuTi Catalysts on the Reaction Activity of NH3-SCO (RuTi 촉매의 소성온도가 NH3-SCO 반응활성에 미치는 영향)

  • In this study, the effect of calcination temperature on the production of RuTi catalyst in NH3-SCO (selective catalytic oxidation) was investigated. The RuTi catalyst was prepared using the wet impregnation method, and calcined at 400~600 ℃ for 4 h in air condition. The catalysts were named RuTi x00 where x00 means the calcination temperature. According to XRD (X-Ray diffraction), TEM (transmission electron microscope), H2-TPR (H2-temperature programmed reduction) analyses, RuTi x00 catalysts displayed that the dispersion of active metal decreased via increasing the calcination temperature. The catalysts with low dispersion showed a decrease in the surface adsorption oxygen species (Oβ) and NH3 adsorption amount via XPS, and NH3-TPD analyses. Therefore, the RuTi 400 catalyst was well dispersed in the active metal on TiO2 surface, and also, the NH3 removal efficiency was excellent.
