화학기상합성에 의해 제조된 $n-TiO_2$ 분말의 분말특성 (Powder Characteristics of $n-TiO_2$ Powder Synthesized by Chemical Vapor Synthesis)

  • The preparation of $n-TiO_2$ powder by the Chemical Vapor Synthesis process (CVS) was studied using the liquid metal organic precursor (TTIP). The residence time and the collection methods were considered as main processing variables through the experiments. The CVS equipment consisted of a micropump and a flashvaporizer, a tube furnace and a tubular collection device. The synthesis was performed at $1000^{\circ}C$ with various sets of collection zone. The residence time and the total system pressure were controlled in the range of 3~20 ms and 10 mbar, respectively. Nitrogen adsorption, X-ray diffraction and electron microscopy were used to determine particle size, specific surface area and crystallographic structure. The grain size of the as-prepared $n-TiO_2$ powder was in the range of 2~8 nm for all synthesis parameters and the powder exhibited only little agglomeration. The relationship between particle characteristics and the processing variables is reviewed based on simple growth model.

Ti 분말 첨가가 TiO2 나노 분말의 성형성에 미치는 영향 (The Effect of Ti Powder addition on Compaction Behavior of TiO2 Nano Powder)

  • The compaction response of $TiO_2$ nano powders with an addition of Ti powders prepared by magnetic pulsed compaction and subsequent sintering processes was investigated. All kinds of different bulk exhibited an average shrinkage of about 12% for different MPCed pressure and sintering temperature, which were approximately 50% lower than those fabricated by general process (20%) and a maximum density of around 92.7% was obtained for 0.8GPa MPCed pressure and $1400^{\circ}C$ sintering temperature. The addition of Ti powder induced an increase in the formability and hardness of the sintered $TiO_2$. But the lower densities were obtained on sintering with addition of over 10 (wt%) Ti powder due to generation of crack during sintering. Subsequently it was verified that the optimum compaction pressure in MPC and sintering temperature were 0.8GPa and $1400^{\circ}C$, respectively.

Nanotube형 $TiO_2$ 분말의 제조 (Preparation of Nanotube-shaped $TiO_2$ Powder)

  • Titanium hydroxide precipitate was obtained by the reaction of 0.5M TiOCl2 and 5M NH4OH solutions, then anatase TiO2 powder with nanotubes was prepared by the digestion of the heat-treated powder in 5M NaOH solution. Nanotube was formed for anatase TiO2 powder digested at 10$0^{\circ}C$ above, and the amount and length of nanotube increased with the digestion temperature. In the case of the powder digested at 15$0^{\circ}C$ for 12h, the formed nanotube was 100~150nm in length, 10~20 nm in diameter, and 2nm in width of the walls on both sides of the nanotube. The powder digested at 15$0^{\circ}C$ for 12h showed the highest specific surface area of 270$m^2$/g.

  • High velocity oxy-fuel (HVOF) spraying was used to coat Ti(Al,O)/$Al_2O_3$ powder onto the SS41 steel plate. Macrostructure of the coated specimen has been investigated by scanning electron micrograph (SEM). High temperature oxidation behavior of the coated specimen and SS41 steel have been studied. From the results of SEM observation, Ti(Al,O)/$Al_2O_3$ powder was coated well onto the substrate SS41 steel. Porosity onto the coated layer was only 0.38%. The oxidation results showed that Ti(Al,O)/$Al_2O_3$ powder coated SS41 steel have improved little oxidation resistance at $900^{\circ}C$ in air, but improved remarkably oxidation resistance at $800^{\circ}C $ in air compare to the substrate SS41 steel.

  • [ $BaTiO_3$ ]분말의 양과 에폭시/$BaTiO_3$ 복합 내장형 커패시터 필름의 유전상수와의 관계를 살펴보고 이에 대해 고찰하였다. 이를 위해 $BaTiO_3$ 분말의 함량에 따른 에폭시/$BaTiO_3$ 복합 내장형 커패시터 필름의 밀도 변화와 필름의 표면 및 단면 모습을 관찰하였다. 또한 $BaTiO_3$ 분말의 함량을 높이기 위한 여러 가지 bimodal 조합에 따른 에폭시/$BaTiO_3$ 복합 내장형 커패시터 필름의 유전상수 변화를 관찰하였다. 단일 입자를 이용한 unimodal의 경우 유전상수가 가장 높게 측정된 $S_4$ 분말을 이용하여 얻을 수 있었던 유전상수의 최대값은 약 60 이었다. 최대값보다 과량의 $BaTiO_3$ 분말을 첨가하였을 경우, 에폭시/$BaTiO_3$ 복합 내장형 커패시터 필름의 유전상수가 감소하는데, 이는 과량의 분말을 수용하기 위해 생성된 기공에 의한 것이었다. Bimodal 조합의 경우 가장 큰 분말과 가장 작은 분말의 조합인 $S_5+C_1$ 조합이 $75\;vol\%$의 가장 많은 양의 분말을 넣어 가장 높은 유전상수 90 을 얻는데 성공하였다.

금속염용액의 분무열분해에 의한 TiC/Co복합분말 제조 (Synthesis of TiC/Co Composite Powder by the Spray Thermal Conversion of Metallic Salt Solution)

  • In the present study, the focus is on the synthesis of titanium carbide/cobalt composite powder by the spray thermal conversion process using metallic salt solution as the raw materials. Two types of oxide powders of Ti-Co-O system were prepared by the spray drying of two types of metallic salt solutions : titanium chloride-cobalt nitrate and $TiO_2$ powder-cobalt nitrate solutions. These oxide powders were mixed with carbon black, and then these mixtures were carbothermal reduced under a flowing argon atmosphere. The changes in the phase structure and thermal gravity of the mixtures during carbothermal reduction were analysed using XRD and TG-DTA. In the case of using the titanium chloride-cobalt nitrate solution, it could not be obtained TiC/Co composite powder due to contamination of the impurities during the spray drying of the solution. However, in tile case of using the $TiO_2$ powder-cobalt nitrate scullion, TiC-15 wt. %Co composite powder could be synthesized by the spray thermal conversion process. The synthesized TiC-15 wt. %Co composite powder at 120$0^{\circ}C$ for 2 hours has average particle size of 150 nm.

수열합성 법에 의한 $BaTiO_3$ 분말제조 및 방전 플라즈마 소결 (Characterization of Hydrothermally Synthesized $BaTiO_3$ Powder and Spark Plasma Sintering(SPS))

  • $BaTiO_3$ fine powder was synthesized by hydrothermal process from the mixture of titania-hydroxide($TiO_2{\cdot}xH_2O$) and barium hexa-hydroxide ($Ba(OH)_2{\cdot}8H_2O$) as starting materials. Fine powder(< 100 nm) was made under the reaction conditions of 18$0^{\circ}C$,10 atm, 1.5 hr in autoclave and showed cubic structure. The powders were sintered by a spark plasma sintering technique from 1050~115$0^{\circ}C$ for 5 min. The grains of sample sintered at 110$0^{\circ}C$ were about 0.9${\mu}m$ in average size and showed the mixture of cubic and tetragonal structures.

TiO2계 나노 복합촉매 특성에 미치는 생성상의 영향 (The Effects of Second Phases on the Photocatalytic Characteristics of the TiO2 base Nano Composite)

  • In the present study, $TiO_2$ imbedded composite powders have been successfully prepared from the (Cu. Zn)/$TiO_2$ composite salt solution. The composite (Cu, Zn)/$TiO_2$ powders were formed by drying the solution at 200~$600^{\circ}C$ in the hydrogen atmosphere. Photocatalytic characteristics was evaluated by detecting the decomposition ratio of aniline blue with UV-visible spectrophotometer(Shimazu Co., UV-1601). Phase analysis of (Cu, Zn)/$TiO_2$ composite powders was carried out by XRD and DSC, and powder size was measured with TEM. The mean particle size of composite powders was about 100mm. As the reduction temperature increases, a few zinc sulfide and oxide phases was formed and copper oxide phase was reduced. The decomposition ratio of aniline blue was about 80% under the UV irradiation by the TiO$_2$ phase in the composite (Cu, Zn)/$TiO_2$ powders and similar decomposition ratio of 80% was obtained at the UV lightless condition by virtue of Cu and Zn compounds.

  • Titanium dioxide was prepared by Polymer Complex Solution Method(PCSM) according to the mole ratio of Titanium (IV) isopropoxide(TTIP)/solvent and polymer(Poly Ethylene Glycol). Polymer electrolytes were usually made by dispersing preproduced ceramic nanoparticles in a polymer matrix. Using this method, pure and nano-sized $TiO_2$ powder was synthesized through a simple procedure and polymer entrapment route. At the optimum amount of the polymer, the titanium ions are dispersed in solution and a homogeneous polymeric network is formed. The maximum intensity of anatase phase of $TiO_2$ was achieved by calcining at $500^{\circ}C$ for 2h. The synthesized $TiO_2$ powders were nano-sized and the average size was about 50nm. Anatase/Rutile ratio of the synthesized $TiO_2$ was 70%/30%.

  • The three different composition of BaTi4O9, Ba2Ti9O20 and BaTi5O11 were prepared by coprecipitation process, and then the dielectric properties of these compounds were measured at low microwave frequencies. The powder showing high level of purity was synthesised by the coprecipition reaction of BaCl2 and TiCl4 where (NH4)2CO3 and NH4OH were used as a deflocculent. Followings are the result of this study: 1. The sintering temperature increased with increasing TiO2 content. 2. BaTi4O9 powder were synthesized as a single phase by this processing technique, but the resultant Ba2Ti9O20 and BaTi5O11 phase existed with Ba2Ti9O20 and BaTi5O11 phases. 3. Single phase BaTi4O9 showed high dielectric constant value of 35, high Q value of 8100.
