  • B₂O₃침가에 따른 (Zn/sub 0.8.Mg/sub 0.2/)TiO₃계 세라믹스의 마이크로파 유전특성에 대하여 연구하였다. B₂O₃의 침가량에 비례하여 B₂O₃와 (Zn/sub 0.8.Mg/sub 0.2/)TiO₃와외 반응에 의한 TiO₂ 석출물의 양이 증가하며 공진주파수 온도계수가 증가하였다. 소결온도에 따라 액상의 양, 미세조직, TiO₂와 2차상의 석출거동이 상이하게 나타났다. 6.19mo1.% B₂O₃물 첨가한 시편을 900℃에서 5시간 소결시 ε/sub r/ = 23.5, Q×f/sub o/ = 67,500 ㎓, T/sub f/ = -1.42 ppm/℃의 우수한 마이크로파 유전특성을 얻을 수 있었다.

  • The role dispersoids has been studied in a number of researches as a key point for the high strength application of dispersion strengthened aluminum alloy. The mechanical alloying(MA) process with high mechanical properties of dispersion strengthened MA Al-8Ti-1B alloys were invested in order to evaluate their stress corrosion cracking(SCC) application. SCC properties of the mechanically alloyed Al-8Ti-1B were studied using slow strain rate test(SSRT). In this study Al-8Ti-1B alloy were more susceptible to SCC in solutions of pH=2.01 and 13.2 than pH=6.81 solution. In this study Al-8Ti-1B alloys by MA had more SCC resistance than Al-8Ti alloys or Al 7075-T73 alloys. So Al-8Ti-1B alloys by MA had more resistance in SSRT SCC susceptinility test than any other above alloying metals.

Ultrasonic Synthesis of CoSe2-Graphene-TiO2 Ternary Composites for High Photocatalytic Degradation Performance

  • In this study, we examined the photo-degradation efficiency of $CoSe_2$-Graphene-$TiO_2$ ($CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$) nanocomposites under visible light irradiation using rhodamine B (RhB) as standard dye. $CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposites were synthesized by ultrasonication and characterized by X-ray diffraction (XRD), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy (TEM), Raman spectroscopic analysis and UV-Vis absorbance spectra analysis. Our results show that the $CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposite exhibited significant photo degradation efficiency compared to pure $TiO_2$ and $CoSe_2-G$, approximately 85.2% of the rhodamine (Rh B) degraded after 2.5 h. It is concluded that the $CoSe_2-G-TiO_2$ nanocomposite is a promising candidate for use in dye pollutants.

  • Electrical discharge machinable $SiC-TiB_2$ composites were fabricated by hot-pressing. Their mechanical and electrical properties were determined as a function of $TiB_2$ content. The addition of $TiB_2$ to SiC matrix increased the strength and toughness and decreased electrical resistivity. The flexural strength and fracture toughness of SiC-40 vol% $TiB_2$ composited were approximately 50% higher than those of monolithic SiC ceramics. Microstructural analysis showed that the toughening was mainly due to the crack deflection, with some possible contribution from crack branching or microcracking.

SHS법에 의한 $TiB_{2}/Cu$계 경사기능재료의 제조 (Synthesis of $TiB_{2}/Cu$ FGM by SHS process)

  • SHS법에 의한 경사기능재료를 제조하는 방법을 조사하여 그 방법에 따라 $TiB_2/Cu$ 경사기능재료를 제조하고자 한다. 이때 원료분말을 구리에 침적하면서 조성의 구배를 주고, 가압 성형한 후 합성을 하기 위한 반응조에 넣었다. 이 시료를 점화시켜 정수압 하에서 합성과 동시에 가압하였다. 이렇게 제조된 $TiB_2/Cu$ 경사기능재료의 결정상, 미세주고 등을 관찰하여 조성의 경사를 확인할 수 있었다.

UV/$TiO_2$ 시스템을 이용한 Rhodamine B의 색도 제거 (Decolorization of Rhodamine B Using UV/$TiO_2$ System)

  • The photocatalytic decolorization of the Rhodamine B (RhB) was studied using a UV/TiO$_2$ reactor. Yakuri titanium dioxide(anatase) was used as the suspended photocatalyst and proved to be effective for decolorization irradiated with UV light (254 mm). The photocatalyzed dioxide concentrations, light intensity and air flow rates. In 0.01 mM RhB, color could be completely photodegraded after 3 hours. Absorption spectrum of an aqueous solution containing RhB showed a continued diminution of the RhB concentration in the solution bulk : concomitantly, no new absorption peaks appeared. This confirmed the decolorization of RhB, i.e., the break up of the chromopore. The optimum loaded titanium dioxide for the decolorization was 0.75 g/(equation omitted). The light intensity showed exponential decay with distance. The decay of light intensity of RhB solution showed different tendency from TiO$_2$. These results suggested that the photocatalytic decolorization of dyes may be available method for decolorizing in wastewater.

  • Ti-25Al-xNb (x=0, 3, 7, 11, 13 at. %) alloys and 18 vol. % TiB/(Ti-25Al-11Nb) metal matrix composite were fabricated by spark plasma sintering process at 900-120$0^{\circ}C$. Microstructural characteristics of the sintered bodies were identified by SEM, EDX analysis, X-ray diffraction, and differential scanning calorimeterric method. $Ti_3Al$ alloy was consisted of equiaxed $\alpha_2$ phase. $Ti_3Al-Nb$ alloys and the matix of TiB/(Ti-25Al-11Nb) metal matrix composite had the morphology that O phase was precipitated at the grain boundary of $\alpha_2$phase. Volume fraction of O phase and hardness were depended on the concentration of Nb in $Ti_3Al-Nb$ alloy, Rule of mixing could be applied to hardness and Young's modulus of 18 vol. % TiB/(Ti-25Al-11Nb) metal matrix composite.

세라믹 Package 봉착용 유리의 결정화에 관한 연구 (Crystallization of Solder Glasses for Ceramic Package)

  • PbO 77-80wt%, ZnO 4.5-6wt%, $B_2O_3$ 7.5-8.5wt%, $TiO_2$ 3-7wt%, $P_2O_5$ 0.5-2wt%의 조성을 갖는 IC Package봉착용 저융점($400-460^{\circ}C$) 결정화유리 frit를 제조하였다. DTA-TMA, X-선 회절분석, SEM 등을 이용하여 봉착용 유리의 결정화 특성을 연구하였다. $TiO_2$ 함량이 3wt% 함유시료는 $420-440^{\circ}C$에서 $2PbO{\cdot}ZnO{\cdot}B_2O_3$의 결정이 균일성장하였다. $TiO_2$ 함량이 4wt% 첨가된 시료는 $420-440^{\circ}C$에서 $2PbO{\cdot}ZnO{\cdot}B_2O_3와\;PbTiO_3$ 결정이 섞여서 혼합결정을 이루고 있었다. 또한 $TiO_2$ 5wt% 첨가된 시료는 $440-460^{\circ}C$에서 perovskite $PbTiO_3$ 결정만 석출되었다.

Reaction Synthesis and Mechanical Properties of $B_4C$-based Ceramic Composites

  • In this investigation, $B_4C$ based ceramic composites were fabricated by in-situ reaction hot pressing using $B_4C$, TiC SiC powder as starting materials. The reaction synthesized composites by hot pressing at $1950^{\circ}C$ was found to posses very high relative density. The reaction synthesized $B_4C$ composites comprise $B_4C$, $TiB_2$, SiC and graphite by the reaction between TiC and $B_4C$. The newly formed $TiB_2$ and graphite was embedded both inside grain and at grain boundary $B_4C$. The mechanical properties of reaction synthesized $B_4C-TiB_2-SiC$-graphite composites were more enhanced compared to those of monolithic $B_4C$.
