The purpose of this study was to investigate the effect of chloroform(CHC1$_3$) fraction of Alisma canaliculatum All. Braun et Bouche(Ac) with selenium(Se) on the plasma glucose and lipid levels in streptozotocin(STZ)-induced diabetic rats. Male Sprague-Dawley rats were divided into five groups. The normal and diabetic rats were separated into four groups: the STZ-control group, the Ac group, the Ac-Se group and the Se group. Diabetes was induced in the male rats by an injection of STZ into the tail vein at a dose of 45 mg/kg. The CHCl$_3$fraction of Ac(250 mg/kg) was administered orally for 14 days. The supplementation was achieved with the AIN-93 recommended diet by adding 2 mg/kg diet of selenium as Na$_2$SeO$_3$. which was prepared freshly everyday. The body weight, hematocrit(Hct), glucose, insulin, cholesterol, HDL-cholesterol, triglyceride(TG) and free fatty acids(FFA) concentrations in plasma were measured. The aminotransferase activities were also analyzed. The changes of body weight in the experimental groups were not significantly different from that of the STZ-control group, but diabetes hyperphagia accompanied changes with body weight loss in Ac-Se group. The levels of Plasma cholesterol were not significantly different among the experimental groups. The concentrations of FFA in the Ac-Se group increased significantly compared with the STZ-control group. The effect of Se alone significantly increased aspartate aminotransferase activity and alanine aminotransferase activity. The results showed that the treatment of CHCl$_3$fraction of Ac in combination with Se has no synergistic effect. There was a tendency for the plasma glucose levels to decrease when Se was administered into diabetic rats. Supplementation of Se in diabetic rats did not elicit a significant increase in plasma insulin levels and exhibited hypotriglyceridemic effect.

As the continued studies for Korean cultivated rhubarb, MeOH extract of the leaves was fractionated with ether, ethylacetate, and n-butanol. From the ethyl acetate fraction of MeOH extract, one flavone glycoside, apigenin-8-${\beta}$-D-glucopyranoside(vitexin, $C_{21}H_{20}O_{10}$) and from the n-BuOH fraction of MeOH extract, two flavonol glycosids, kaempferol-3-O-(2,6-di-O-rhamnopyranosyl)-${\beta}$-D-galactopyranoside$(C_{33}H_{40}O_{19})$and quercetin-3-O-rutinoside(rutin, $C_{27}H_{30}O_{16}$) were isolated and identified through the physico-chemical properties and spectroscopic evidences(UV, IR, NMR, Mass) respectively.

Zinc-oxide (ZnO), II-VI semiconductor with a wide and direct band gap (Eg: 3.2~3.4 eV), is one of the most potential candidates to substitute for ITO due to its excellent chemical, thermal stability, specific electrical and optoelectronic property. However, the electrical resistivity of un-doped ZnO is not low enough for the practical applications. Therefore, a number of doped ZnO films have been extensively studied for improving the electrical conductivities. In this study, Ti-doped ZnO films were successfully prepared by atomic layer deposition (ALD) techniques. ALD technique was adopted to careful control of Ti doping concentration in ZnO films and to show its feasible application for 3D nanostructured TCO layers. Here, the structural, optical and electrical properties of the Ti-doped ZnO depending on the Ti doping concentration were systematically presented. Also, we presented 3D nanostructured Ti-doped ZnO layer by combining ALD and nanotemplate processes.

We prepared 0~20mo1% WO$_3$added ZnO composite ceramics in order to promote a CO gas sensitivity. Using SE,. we observed the microstructure of sample. The resistances of sample were measured by High Voltage Measure/source Unit in the temperature range of +5V~-5V. The measured 1000ppm CO sensitivities of pure ZnO were about 1~4.3, and the measured 1000ppm CO sensitivities of ZnO-WO$_3$composite ceramics were about 1~8.2. Therefore, the 1000ppm CO sensitivities of ZnO-WO$_3$composite ceramics were about 2 times larger than that of pure ZnO.

We carried out simultaneous monitoring observations of five maser lines, H2O (22 GHz), SiO 𝝊 =1, 2, J =1-0 (43.1, 42.8 GHz), and SiO 𝝊 =1, J=2-1, J =3-2 (86.2, 129.3 GHz), toward the Mira variable star WX Serpentis with the 21-m antennas of the Korean VLBI Network (KVN) in 2009-2021 (~12 years). Most spectra of the H2O maser are well separated into two parts of two blue- and one redshifted features within ± 10 km s-1 of the stellar velocity. All detected SiO masers are generally concentrated within ± 5 km s-1 of the stellar velocity, and sometimes appear split into two components. Overall, the profiles of SiO and H2O masers detected in WX Serpentis illustrate typical characteristics of the Mira variable. In addition, flux variations of both SiO and H2O masers are well correlated with the optical light curve of the central star, showing a phase lag of ~ 0.1 for SiO masers and ~ 0.2 for H2O maser. This phenomenon is considered to be the direct effect of propagating shock waves generated by the stellar pulsation, because SiO and H2O masers are sequentially distributed at different positions with respect to the central star. In addition, we analyzed long-term trends and characteristics of maser velocities, maser ratio, and the velocity extents (the full width at zero power; FWZP). We also investigated a spectral energy distribution (SED) ranging from 1.2 to 240 ㎛ obtained using several infrared data: 2MASS, WISE, IRAS, ISO, COBE DIBRE, RAFGL, and AKARI (IRC and FIS). From the IRAS LRS and ISO SWS spectra of this star, we identified 9.7 and 12 ㎛ silicate emission features consistent with the SE6 spectrum model, corresponding to the typical AGB phase.

Recently, It has performed that the basic research of the photoconductive material and the development and application of the digital radiograph detector which is divided into the direct and indirect method. The objective of this study investigate the effect of the electric characteristic about changing the composition of Arsenic in hybrid detector system for compensating a defect of conventional. We fabricated samples using the amorphous Selenium and Arsenic alloy with various concentrations of the Arsenic{seven step 0.1%, 0.3%, 0.5%, 1%, 1.5%, 3%, 5%). And using EFIRON optical adhesives the formed multi-layer$(Gd_{2}O_{2}S(Eu^{2+}))$ composed phosphor layer. X-ray and light sensitivity was measured to study x-ray response characteritics. As results, highest value was measured as output net charge and SNR were $315.7pC/cm^2/mR$ and 99.4 at 0.3%As doping ratio.
The effect of oxidative stress on the alterations of different antioxidant enzyme activities was investigated in human skin melanoma cell line (SK-MEL-2). Oxidative stress was induced by the exposure to hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O$$_2$). SK-MEL-2 cells were treated with antioxidants such as vitamin E and selenomethionine in combination with $H_2O$$_2$. SK-MEL-$_2$ cells were exposed to various concentrations of $H_2O$$_2$ and measured the time course of changes in cell viability and antioxidant enzyme activities for 24 hr. Oxidative stress was induced by the exposure to 2.5mM hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O$$_2$) resulted in declining significantly for 24 hr. GPX and CAT activities peaked at 3 hr and returned to control levels by 24 hr. On the contrary, SOD activity was inactive before 6 hr but recovered at 24 hr. In case vitamin E (Vit E) and selenomethionine (Se-Met) were used at nontoxic concentrations (25$\mu$M Vit E/500$\mu$M Se-Met) to oxidative stress was induced by the exposure to hydrogen peroxide ($H_2O$$_2$) led to a 3- and 5-fold increase on the viability comparing to control and caused an increase in GPX activity respectively.
