PbO-B$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$-BaO계의 유리화에 대한 전이온도 및 성분 원소비의 영향 (Effects of Transition Temperature and Atomic Ratio on Glass Formation Tendency in the PbO-B$_2$O$_3$-TiO$_2$-BaO System)

  • The glass forming ability of the PbO-B2O3-TiO3-BaO system was investigated in relation to transitieon tem-peratures and the atomic ratio between constituents. Glass forming tendency was improved as the tem-peratures and the atomic ratio between constituents. Glass forming tendency was improved as the tem-perature differences between liquidus temperature and crystallization(or glass transition) temperature de-creased and the temperature difference between crystallization and glass transition temperature increases. The atomic ratio could be used as a criterion to deign glass systems. The interposition of B and Ba atoms between Pb and Ti atoms was one of important factors in glass formation.

  • X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy(XPS) has been empolyed to investigate the structure of PbO-Bi2O3-Ga2O3 glasses. XPS OIS spectra recorded from binary PbO-Ga2O3 glasses clearly showed the presence of two peacks due to bridging and non-bridging oxygens, respectively. Gaussin best-fit deconvolution of the OIS peaks suggested there are substaintial amount of non-bridging oxygens in the structure. Therefore, in addition to the glassforming and charge compensating roles of PbO as suggested from the previous works, role of PbO as network modifiers needs to be considered. Addition of Bi2O3 to binary glasses resulted in the rapid decrease in the amount of non-bridging oxygens as well as in values of FWHM (Full Width at the Half Maximum intensity). It is believed that Bi2O3 form distorted BiO6 octahedra and therefore, work as intermediates. Infrared spectra also suggested that Ga2O3 behave as network-formers in the form of GaO4- tetrahedra.

  • 황산용액에 함유된 망간(II)의 농도가 Pb-Ag양극의 산화거동에 미치는 영향을 1.8에서 2.0 V의 범위에서 정전위법으로 조사하였다. 산화전위가 높고 망간의 초기 농도가 낮은 조건에서는 망간(III)의 농도가 높았으며, 산화반응 후 용액을 분광학적으로 분석하여 이를 확인하였다. 1.8과 1.9 V에서는 $MnO_2$가 망간(II)의 산화에 의해 생성되나, 2.0 V에서는 망간(III)의 불균등화반응에 의해 형성되었다. 1.8 V에서 용액에 망간(II)이 존재하면 정전위조건에서 산화시킬 때 납이 $PbO_2$로 산화되지 않았다. 그러나 1.9와 2.0 V에서는 망간(II)농도가 증가함에 따라 $PbO_2$가 망간(II)에 의해 화학적으로 환원되어 $PbO_2$의 양이 감소하였다.

  • In this study, x PSN - y PT - z PZ ceramics doped with w $MnO_2$ were fabricated by the mixed oxide method at 1250 [$^{\circ}C$] for 2[hr] and then the dielectric and pyroelectric properties were investigated. In the 0.05 PSN - 0.4 PT - 0.55 PZ specimen with 0.5[wt%] $MnO_2$ the Pyroelectrics coefficient was $6.6{\times}10^{-8}[C/cm^2.^{\circ}C]$, respectibly.

과잉 PbO 첨가 및 미분쇄에 의한 PZT 압전세라믹스의 미세구조제어와 소결특성 및 기계적 성질 (Effects of Excess PbO and Ball-Milling on the Microstructure, Sintering Behavior and Mechanical Properties of PZT Ceramics)

  • Pb(Zr0.53Ti0.47)O3 (PZT) ceramics having different microstructures were fabricated at low temperatures using calcined PZT powders with addition of excess PbO powder and/or ball milling. The effects of excess PbO and ball milling time on the microstructure, the sintering characteristic, and the mechanical properties of these ceramics were studied. Fine powders with average particle size of 0.38㎛ could be obtained by ball milling with 2.5 mm Ф zirconia balls for 120 hours. By the addition of 2mol% of excess PbO to these powders, it was possible to obtain well-densitified PZT ceramics at low sintering temperature of 980℃. Densification behavior of PZT was affected by the addition of excess PbO powder, while, grain growth was hardly affected by PbO addition. It was observed that Vicker's hardness decreased and fracture toughness increased with the increasing amount of PbO. At 1mol% excess PbO, it was shown that the minimum values of hardness and maximum fracture toughness were achieved. In addition, with increasing sintering time, the fracture toughness decreased and the hardness increased.
