In this work, the effect of glycidyl methacrylate grafted multi-walled carbon nanotubes (GMA-MWCNTs) on the viscoelastic behaviors of polypropylene (PP) based nanocomposites was studied. The GMA-MWCNTs/PP was prepared using a bravender at $200^{\circ}C$ by melt mixing as a function of GMA-MWCNT content. The viscoelastic behaviors of GMA-MWCNTs/PP nanocomposites were measured by a rheometer. It was found that the GMA-MWCNTs were homogeneously dispersed in the PP matrix. The GMA-MWCNTs/PP nanocomposites showed higher storage modulus, loss modulus, and shear viscosity compared to pure PP nanocomposites and the maximum value was shown at 2.0 wt% GMA-MWCNTs loading. These results were probably attributed to the strong interfacial interaction between the GMA-MWCNT and the PP matrix.

PP-PHE blends were prepared by mechanical blending using relatively high moecular weight polyhydrozyether(PHE) and popypropylene polymers. PP-PHE blends were prepared and characterized for the purpose of obtaining a dycable PP fibers with the composition of less than 10 wt.% of PHE. 1)yeable PP fibers were acquired through the melt spinning of the PP-PHE blend of comprising less than 10 wt.% of PHE. The resultant fibers had tensile strength of 2~3 g/d, elongation of 330~600%, initial modulus of 22~46 g/d and yield stress of 1.0 g/d, and exhibited markedly improved dyeing ability such as higher absorbance, higher dye adsorption and deeper shade than those of pure PP fiber.

This study examined the effects of the addition of maleic anhydride-grafted polypropylene (PP-g-MA) and polyolefin elastomer (POE) on polyamide 66 (PA66) and polypropylene (PP) blends. The blends of PA66/PP with PP-g-MA and POE were prepared using a twin screw extruder. Mechanical testing results revealed that the tensile, flexural, and izod impact strengths of the blends were maximized at a PP-g-MA content of 2 phr. The increased mechanical strength of the blends with PP-g-MA was attributed to the compatibilizing effect of the PA66 and PP blends. In addition, as the POE content increased, the impact strength of the blends increased. However, at a high POE content, the tensile and flexural strengths decreased, seemingly because of the lower mechanical properties of POE.
DELVAUX is an inductive learning environment that learns Bayesian classification rules from a set o examples. In DELVAUX, a genetic a, pp.oach is employed to learn the best rule-set, in which a population consists of rule-sets and rule-sets generate offspring by exchanging some of their rules. We have explored a meta-learning a, pp.oach in the DELVAUX learning environment to improve the classification performance of the DELVAUX system. The meta-learning a, pp.oach learns the bias of a classifier so that it can evaluate the prediction made by the classifier for a given example and thereby improve the overall performance of a classifier system. The paper discusses the meta-learning a, pp.oach in details and presents some empirical results that show the improvement we can achieve with the meta-learning a, pp.oach.

This study will not only prove experimental dynamic properties which are classified to slump, compressive strength, tensile strength, flexure strength and toughness granite soil concrete with a fine aggregate of granite soil and blast-furnace cement and polypropylene fiber over 45 mm, but also establish a basic data in order to use environment-friendly pavement through prove useful pavement mixed with granite and polypropylene (PP) fiber which is a kind of material to prevent a dry shrinkage clack, a partial destruction and useful and light. The value of slump test was gradually increased by PP fiber volume 3 $kgf/m^3$, but compressive strength took a sudden turn for the worse from 5 $kgf/m^3$. The compressive strength indicated a range of 13.72~18.35 MPa. On the contrary to compressive strength, the tensile strength showed to decrease with rising PP fiber volume, and the tensile strength indicated a range of 1.43~1.64 MPa. The tensile strength was stronger about 2~15 % in case of mixing with PP fiber volume than normal concrete. The flexural strength indicated a range of 2.76~3.41 MPa. The flexural strength was stronger about 20 % in case of PP fiber volume 0 $kg/m^3$ than PP fiber volume 9 $kg/m^3$. The toughness indicated a range of 0~25.46 $N{\cdot}mm$ and increased proportionally with PP fiber volume. The toughness was stronger about 8.3 times in case of PP fiber volume 9 $kg/m^3$ than PP fiber volume 1 $kg/m^3$. The pavement with PP fiber volume over such a fixed quantity in the park roads and walkways can have a effect to prevent not only resistance against clack but also rip off failures.

Thermal degradation characteristics of polypropylene and polystyrene have been studied in the thermogravimetric(TG) reactor and batch-type microreactor. The dynamic thermogravimetric curve of TG provided a valuable information about pyrolysis temperature. It was found that PS was thermally degraded at lower temperature of $30{\sim}50^{\circ}C$ than PP. It was found that the yield and molecular weight of liquid product in the microreactor were decreased with the increase of reaction temperature and time in the case of PP. The production of styrene monomer was significantly increased by the promotion of depolymerization with the increase of temperature and time. The chain-end scission rate parameters were determined to be 50.0 kcal/mole of PP, 45.2 kcal/mole of PS by the Arrhenius plot.

Experiments have been conducted to investigate synergistic effects and mechanisms of the Alaskan subbituminous coal/polypropylene (PP). Coliquefaction of coal/PP gave the synergistic effect in yields by 17% compared to independent liquefactions of coal or PP at $430^{\circ}C$. To analyse coliquefaction mechanisms, the second and zeroth order kinetic models were developed for coal and PP conversions respectively. When the models were simulated to fit coliquefaction results, those represented results successfully with the correlation coefficient of 0.99. The amount of tetralin needed to liquefy unit mass of coa 1(${\beta}$) was also calculated using the developed model. According to the calculated results, $\beta$ increased from 0.4 to 1.0 as the coliquefaction temperature increased from $410^{\circ}C$ to $470^{\circ}C$. This indicated that tetralin lowered the molecular weight of oil produced, and this phenomenon was recognized by the GPC analyses. Furthermore, it was found that tetralin prohibited the liquefaction of PP when coal was not added. On the other hand, tetralin was believed to act as a hydrogen-donor solvent to coal rather than prohibit PP liquefaction during coliquefaction. Therefore, the liquefaction rate of PP increases and synergistic effects in oil yields are mainly due to the increase in PP liquefaction during coal/PP coliquefaction.
