부하변동이 큰 화장시설 SCR 공정에서 NOx/N2O 및 NH3 동시 저감 특성 연구 (The Reaction Characteristics of NOx/N2O and NH3 in Crematory Facility SCR Process with Load Variation)

  • Efficient simultaneous reduction conditions for $NO_x$ and $NH_3$-slip was investigated in SCR (Selective Catalytic Reduction) process with load variation by applying dual catalysts (SCR catalyst, $NH_3$ decomposition catalyst) system. $N_2O$ formation characteristics were analyzed to look into possible undesirable reaction pathways. In the experiments of catalyst characteristics, various operational variables were tested for the combined catalytic system, such as $NH_3/NO_x$ ratio, temperature, oxygen concentration and $H_2O$. The reaction characteristics of $NO_x$, $NH_3$ and $N_2O$ were analyzed and optimal conditions could be evaluated for the combustion facility with varied load. In terms of $NO_x/NH_3$ simultaneous reduction and $N_2O$ formation suppression, optimal condition was considered NSR 1.2 and temperature $300^{\circ}C$. At this operational condition, $NO_x$ conversion was 98%, $NH_3$ reduction efficiency was 95%, generated $N_2O$ concentration 9.5 ppm with inlet $NO_x$ concentration of 100 ppm. In $NH_3-SCR$ process with $NH_3$ decomposition catalyst, $NO_x$ and $NH_3$ can be considered to be reduced simultaneously at limited conditions. The results of this study may be utilized as basic data at facilities requiring simultaneous $NO_x$ and $NH_3$ reduction for facilities with load variation.

Facile Precipitation Method for Morphological Tuning of Cu2O Crystals

  • We have developed a simple method for tuning the morphologies of $Cu_2O$ microcrystals. $Cu_2O$ microcrystals were prepared by precipitation at room temperature from a mixture of $Cu(CH_3COO)_2{\cdot}H_2O$, N,N,N',N'-tetramethyl ethylenediamine (TMEDA), ascorbic acid, and polyethylene glycol (PEG). TMEDA was used to promote the formation of copper-TMEDA complexes. A variety of $Cu_2O$ microcrystal morphologies were obtained simply by varying the concentrations of TMEDA and ascorbic acid. Aggregated $Cu_2O$ microspheres are formed at higher concentrations of ascorbic acid in the absence of TMEDA. Aggregated $Cu_2O$ microcubes are formed at lower concentrations of ascorbic acid and higher concentrations of TMEDA. The crystal growth mechanism of these $Cu_2O$ morphologies is explained.

  • In this study, quantitative measurement of nitric oxide concentration distributions visualization were investigated in the laminar $CH_4/O_2N_2$ nixed flame by Planar laser-induced fluorescence(PLIF). The NO A-X (0,0) vibrational band around 226nm was excited using a XeCl excimer-pumped dye laser. Selecting an appropriate NO transition minimizes interference from Rayleigh scattering and $O_2$ fluorescence. The measurements were taken in $CH_4/O_2N_2$ premixed flame with equivalence ratios varying from $1.0{\sim}1.6$, and a fixed flow rate of 3slpm. NO was found to produce primarily between an inner premixed and an outer nonpremixed flame front, and total NO concentration is raised when equivalence ratios increase. These results suggest that prompt NO is likely to contribute to MO formation in $CH_4/O_2N_2$ premixed flame. Furthermore, this trend was well matched with previous works.

  • We proposed that concentrations of cartier electron as well as ionized donor defects in nonstoichiometric ZnO are proportional to $P^{-1/2}_{O_2}$, whenever they ionizes singly or doubly, by employing the Fermi-Dirac (FD) statistics for ionization of the native thermal defects $Zn_i$ and $V_o$. The effect of acceptor defect, zinc vacancy $V_{Zn}$made by the Frenkel and Schottky disorder reactions, on carrier concentrations was discussed. By application of the FD statistics law to their ionization while the formation of defects is assumed governed by the mass-action law, the calculation results indicate; 1. ZnO shows n-type conductivity with $N_D>$N_A$ and majority concentration of $n{\propto}\;P^{-1/2}_{O_2}$ in a range of $P_{O_2}$, lower than a critical value. 2. As the concentration of acceptor $V_{Zn}$ increases proportional to $P^{1/2}_{O_{2}}$, ZnO made at extremely high $P_{O_{2}}$, can have p-type conductivity with majority concentration of p ${\propto}\;P^{-1/2}_{O_{2}}$. One may not, however, obtain p-type ZnO if the pressure for $N_{D}<$N_{A}$ is too high.

High-temperature Oxidation of Nano-multilayered AlTiSiN Thin Films deposited on WC-based carbides

  • Nano-multilayered, crystalline AlTiSiN thin films were deposited on WC-TiC-Co substrates by the cathodic arc plasma deposition. The deposited film consisted of wurtzite-type AlN, NaCl-type TiN, and tetragonal $Ti_2N$ phases. Their oxidation characteristics were studied at 800 and $900^{\circ}C$ for up to 20 h in air. The WC-TiC-Co oxidized fast with large weight gains. By contrast, the AlTiSiN film displayed superior oxidation resistance, due mainly to formation of the ${\alpha}-Al_2O_3$-rich surface oxide layer, below which an ($Al_2O_3$, $TiO_2$, $SiO_2$)-intermixed scale existed. Their oxidation progressed primarily by the outward diffusion of nitrogen, combined with the inward transport of oxygen that gradually reacted with Al, Ti, and Si in the film.

  • Numerical simulations are performed at atmospheric pressure in order to understand the effect of additives on flame speed and the NOx formation in freely propagating $H_{2}/O_{2}/N_{2}$ flames with oxygen enrichments. A chemical kinetic mechanism is developed, which involves 26 gas-phase species and 99 reactions. Under several equivalence ratios and oxygen enrichments, flame speeds are calculated and compared with those obtained from the experiments, the results of which is in good agreement. As hydrogen chloride as additive is added into $H_{2}/O_{2}/N_{2}$ flames with low oxygen enrichments, its chemical effect causes the decrease of flame speed, radical concentration, and the NO production rate. It is found that the chemical effect of additive has much more influence on the reduction of EINO than its physical effect. However, in flames with very high flame temperature the physical effect rather than the chemical effect becomes more important on the reduction of EINO.

  • In this study, experiments were carried out to investigate the characteristics of grinding and wear process of diamond wheel grinding ceramic materials. Normal component of grinding resistance of $AI_2O_3$ was less then that of $Si_3N_4$ and $ZrO_2$. It is because the resistance for grain shedding is less then that for layer formation. For the case of $Si_3N_4$ and $ZrO_2$, as the grain mesh number of wheel increases, the surface roughness decreases. For the case of $AI_2O_3$, the surface roughness does not decreases. For the case of $Si_3N_4$ and $ZrO_2$, grinding is carried out by abrasive wear processes. For the case of $AI_2O_3$, grinding is carried out by grain shedding process.

  • SnO2- amorphous Sb 5 thin film-Sn structure에서 SnO2 창으로 photon을 입사시켰을 때 photo-voltaic 효과를 발견했으며 photon의 energy에 따라 photowltage의 부호가 반전 되었다. 이러한 현상은 SnO2- Sb S 사이에서 n-n heterojunction이, Sb S Sn사이에서 schottky junction이 형성되기 때문인 것으로 여겨진다.

구봉석회석광산의 지질조사보고(地質調査報告) (Geologic Report on the Goobong Limestone Mine)

  • The purpose of this report is to prepare a data for the economic evaluation on the Goobong Limestone Mine which is located at the south-eastern corner of the Yongchun Quadrangle scaled in 1:50,000. The accessibility from the mine to railroad was considered in two ways. One is to Dodam Station on Central Railway Line and the other is to reach Songjung-ni village which is near Sangyong Station on Hamback Railway Line. The distance of the former way is 26.7km and the later is 24.2km. Geologically the mine is situated near the base of the Greast Limestone Series which strikes generally $N25^{\circ}{\sim}30^{\circ}E$. The series comprises six different formations from older to younger; Pungchon Limestone Formation and Whajol Formation of Cambrian age, and Dongjum Quartzite Formation, Dumudong Formation, Maggol Limestone Formation and Goseong Formation of lower to middle Ordovician age. 82 samples; 48 from Pungchon Limestone Formation, 11 from Dumudong Formation, 15 from Maggol Limestone Formation and 8 from Goseong Formation, were taken from the series in the crossed direction to the general trend of the series as shown in geological map. They were chemically analyzed on the components of CaO, MgO, $SiO_2$, $R_2O_3(Al_2O_3+Fe_2O_3)$ and ignition loss as shown in table 2, table 3, table 4, and table 5. As seen from the tables, among the formations of the series, middle to upper parts of the Pungchon Limestone Formation and middle and upper parts of the Dumudong Formation have chemical composition as available source for the raw material of cement industry, not only that but also the part of the Pungchon Formation was highly evaluated as source for the flux of iron smelting and the raw material of carbide manufacturing because of its high purity of calcium carbonate.

평면예혼합화염중의 N2O 농도변화에 관한 실험연구 (An Experimental Study of N2O Concentration Profiles in Planner Premixed Flame)

  • The Marine Environment Protection Committee(MEPC) which is the IMO's specialized committee on marine pollution related matters deals with GHG related issues to discuss and compile possible approaches on technical, operational and market based measures to address GHG emissions from ships. The nitrous oxide($N_2O$) which remains generally in the atmosphere for around 114 years is one of the green house gases. The global warming potential of $N_2O$ is 310 times than $CO_2$ in the given period 100 years. It seems that the $N_2O$ formation is influenced by the nitrogen compound contained in the fuel which is named as "Fuel N" during the combustion process or the NOx, SOx and $H_2O$ through the emission gases before exhausted into the atmosphere. This paper has carried out an experimental study of the $N_2O$ concentration profiles by the change of $NH_3$ flows in the planner premixed combustion with using $C_3H_8$ and air.
