MBR 반응조에서 아질산염 축적에 미치는 암모니아와 용존산소 농도의 영향 연구 (Influence of Ammonia and Dissolved Oxygen Concentrations on Nitrite Accumulation in a MBR)

  • 암모니아의 질산염으로의 산화는 2개의 산화과정으로 구분된다. 나이트로좀머나스(Nitrosomonas)에 의한 암모니아의 아질산염으로의 산화와 나이트로박터(Nitrobacter)에 의한 아질산염의 질산염으로의 산화이다. 아질산염 축적 과정을 거치는 질소의 제거는 포기를 위한 에너지의 절약, 탈질과정에서 투입되는 유기물의 절약 및 발생되는 슬러지의 양을 감소시킬 수 있는 다양한 장점들을 가지고 있다. 본 연구에서는 아질산염 축적의 조건들을 찾기 위해 막분리 장치를 장착한 생물분리막 반응조(MBR)가 사용되었다. 생물 분리막 반응조는 성장속도가 늦어 쉽게 유실되어질 수 있는 독립영양 질산화 박테리아를 반응조내 충분히 유지시키는데 중요한 역할을 한다. 반응조내 용존산소와 암모니아의 농도를 변화시키며 아질산염 축적의 영향인자들을 조사하였다. 연구의 결과로 반응조내 높은 암모니아 농도는 아질산염 축적을 시작하는데 매우 효과적이었으며, 이러한 효과는 반응조내 낮은 용존산소 농도가 동시에 존재할 시 더욱 강화되었다. 낮은 용존산소 농도 $c'_{O2}<0.3$ $mgL^{-1}$ $O_2$와 높은 암모니아 농도 $c_{NH3}=6.3\sim14.9$ $mgL^{-1}$ $NH_3N$에서 아질산염 축적율 74%에 달성될 수 있었다. 특히 아질산염 축적이 많은 연구자들이 제시하는 것처럼 생물막 반응조에서 뿐만 아니라, MBR 반응조에서도 일어날 수 있음을 밝힌 것은 본 연구의 중요한 성과라 할 것이다.

부분질산화와 혐기성 암모늄산화를 이용한 돈사폐수처리 (Piggery Waste Treatment using Partial Nitritation and Anaerobic Ammonium Oxidation)

  • Nitrogen removal with the combined SHARON (Single reactor system for high ammonium removal over nitrite)ANAMMOX (Anaerobic ammonium oxidation) process using the effluent of ADEPT (Anaerobic digestion elutriated phased treatment) slurry reactor with very low C/N ratio for piggery waste treatment was investigated. For the preceding SHARON reactor, ammonium nitrogen loading and removal rate were $0.97kg\;NH_4-N/m^3_{reactor}/day$ and $0.68kg\;NH_4-N/m^3_{reactor}/day$ respectively. In steady state, bicarbonate alkalinity consumption for ammonium nitrogen converted to $NO_2-N$ or $NO_3-N$ was 8.4 gram per gram ammonium nitrogen. The successive ANAMMOX reactor was fed with the effluent from SHARON reactor. The loading and removal rate of the soluble nitrogen defined as the sum total of $NH_4-N$, $NO_2-N$ and $NO_3-N$ in ANAMMOX reactor were $1.36kg\;soluble\;N/m^3_{reactor}/day$ and $0.7kg\;soluble\;N/m^3_{reactor}/day$, respectively. The average $NO_2-N/NH_4-N$ removal ratio by ANAMMOX was 2.41. Fluorescence in situ hybridization (FISH) analysis verified that Candidatus Kuenenia stuttgartiensis were dominate, which means that they played an important role of nitrogen removal in ANAMMOX reactor.

Aerobic Granules for the Effective Oxidation of Ammonium Nitrogen

  • In this study, aerobic granules were applied to a lab-scale aerobic granule sludge airlift reactor (AGSAR) and the ammonium nitrogen oxidation performance was evaluated at different ammonium nitrogen loading rate (NLR). At least 99% of the initial ammonium nitrogen was oxidized at an NLR of 0.27 and 0.53 kg $NH_4{^+}-N/m^3{\cdot}day$, for both aerobic granules (control), and nitrifying aerobic granules (NAGs). The ammonium nitrogen oxidation deteriorated, when the NLR was increased to 1.07 kg $NH_4{^+}-N/m^3{\cdot}day$. The NAGs were characterized by complete nitrification, while partial nitrification was observed in the control.

  • This paper provides the properties of $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays which are fabricated by anodic oxidation of Ti metal. Highly ordered $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays could be obtained by anodic oxidation of Ti foil in $0.3\;wt{\cdot}%$ $NH_4F$ contained ethylene glycol solution at $30^{\circ}C$. The length, pore size, wall thickness, tube diameter etc. of $TiO_2$ nanotube arrays were analyzed by field emission scanning electron microscopy. Their crystal properties were studied by field emission transmission electron microscopy and X-ray photoelectron spectroscopy.

  • The effect of variation of pack activators, compositions, temperature and time on the thickness and structure of aluminide coatings formed on the TiAl alloy was studied in one-step packs and two-step packs containing aluminum for the purpose of improvement of oxidation resistance. The thickness of coating layer was increased with increasing $NH_4Cl$ content up to 3wt% and then it was saturated. Oxidation resistance of coating layers carried out at one step pack was superior to that of ones through of two step pack. The improvement of high temperature oxidation resistance was due to the formation of a protective $Al_2O_3$ surface layers and coating the alloys with $TiAl_3$ phase.

바나듐 계열 촉매를 통한 NOx의 NH3-SCR에 관한 실험적 연구 (An Experimental Study on the NH3-SCR of NOx over a Vanadium-based Catlayst)

  • The $NH_3$-SCR characteristics of $NO_X$ over a V-based catalyst are experimentally examined over a wide range of operating conditions, i.e., $170-590^{\circ}C$ and $30,000-50,000h^{-1}$, with a simulated diesel exhaust containing $NH_3$, NO, $NO_2$, $O_2$, $H_2O$, and $N_2$. The influences of the space velocity and oxygen concentration on the standard-SCR reaction are analyzed, and it is shown that the low space velocity and high oxygen concentration promote the SCR activity by ammonia. The best $deNO_X$ efficiency is obtained with a $NO_2/NO_X$ ratio of 0.5 because of an enhanced chemical activity induced by the fast-SCR reaction, while at the $NO_2/NO_X$ ratios above 0.5 the $deNO_x$ activity decreases due to the slow-SCR reaction. The oxidation of ammonia begins to take place at about $300^{\circ}C$ and the reaction products, such as $N_2$, NO, $NO_2$, $N_2O$, and $H_2O$, are produced by the undesirable oxidation reactions of ammonia, particularly at high temperatures above $450^{\circ}C$. Also, $NO_2$ decomposes to NO and $O_2$ at temperatures above $240^{\circ}C$. Therefore, $NO_2$ decomposition and ammonia oxidation reactions deteriorate significantly the SCR catalytic activity at high temperatures.

  • Laboratory batch experiments were conducted, using suspended solids and sediments taken. from a tidal section of the Rokkaku river, to study the effect of salinity on nitrification and to estimate kinetic parameters of it. Experimental results indicated much more inhibitation of ;$NO_2$-N oxidation by chlorides than that of $NH_4$-N oxidtion. Nitrifying bactema in sediments were less sensitive to chlorides than those in SS. The change of nitrogen concentration with time was clearly explained with the Monod growth model and the kinetic parameters were obtained by the curve fitting method.

Improvement of CF/ABS Composite Properties by Anodic Oxidation of Pitch based C-type Carbon Fiber

  • The surface treatment of C-type isotropic pitch-based carbon fiber was carried out by anodic oxidation in 5 wt% $NH_4NO_3$ electrolyte. The changes of fiber surface and carbon fiber/ABS resin composites were characterized by SEM, XPS and mechanical properties test. The oxygen functional groups on the surface, such as hydroxyl (-C-OH), carboxyl (-COOH) groups etc., increased after oxidation. Tensile strength, flexural strength and modulus of carbon fiber/ABS composites were also enhanced. However, the impact strength decreased with the improvement of the surface adhesion between CF and matrix.

한반도 서부유입권역에서 대기 중 에어로졸 성분의 화학적 특성 연구 II. 입자의 산성도 및 산화 특성 (A Study on Chemical Characteristics of Aerosol Composition at West Inflow Regions in the Korean Peninsula II. Characteristics of Inorganic Aerosol Acidity and Organic Aerosol Oxidation)

  • We examined acidity state of inorganic aerosol and oxidation state of organic aerosol by High Resolution Time of Flight Aerosol Mass Spectrometer (HR-ToF-AMS) at Baengnyeong Super site from Jan 2012 to Dec 2013. Additionally, we carried out the analysis for the aerosol component group of organic matter ($C_xH_y$, $C_xH_yO_1$, $C_xH_yO_z$, $C_xH_yO_zN_p$) and elemental composition to calculate H/C, O/C, N/C, OM/OC and identify the oxidation state. The aerosol chemical composition in this study is dominated by sulfate ($SO_4{^{2-}}$), nitrate ($NO_3{^-}$) plays a smaller role in aerosol acidity. Ammonium ($NH_4{^+}$) was found in a formation of $(NH_4)_3H(SO_4)_2$. However, the binding formations of $NH_4NO_3$ and $NH_4Cl$ increase in the winter. $C_xH_yO_1$ indicating the oxidized state of $PM_{1.0}$ has the highest ratio of 41% while $C_xH_y$ indicating the non-oxidized state has a lower ratio of 36%, meaning that the oxidation level of $PM_{1.0}$ in Baengnyeong Island is high. The ratio between H/C and O/C was 1.33 and 0.78 respectively, showing the characteristic of LV-OOA (Low volatility-Oxygenated Organic Aerosol). Acidic and oxidized aerosols sampled during this field study were largely anthropogenic in origin from Chinese continent and photochemically aged.

  • Ammonium metavanadate의 熱分解過程을 spring balance와 示差熱分析에 의하여 調査하였다. 分解는 $180^{\circ}C{\sim}220^{\circ}C$$310^{\circ}C{\sim}330^{\circ}C$이 두 溫度範圍에서 일어나며 最終生成物은 $V_2O_5(orange yellow)$임을 알았다. 第一段階分解는 $NH_3$$H_2O$가 2:1의 比로 放出되는 過程임을 $NH_3$의 定量, omegatron mass spectrometer에 의하여 알았으며, 第二段階의 分解는 $NH_3,\;H_2$)外에 N2도 放出된다는 것을 gas chromatography, omegatron mass spectrometer에 의하여 認知하였다. 分解生成物을 X-ray 回折에 의하여 分析한 結果는 空氣中에서의 分解生成物은 $V_2O_5$의 組成을 가진 것이 生成되었음을 確認하였다. 또한 $NH_4VO_3$ 熱分解에 있어서의 活性化에너지는 各各 41.4 kcal/mole 64.4 kcal/mole의 값을 갖었음을 알았다.
