Cordierite계 적외선 방사체의 제 특성에 미치는 $MnO_2$의 영향 (Effects of $MnO_2$ additives on the thermal properties of infrared radiator of Cordierite system)

  • The thermal properties of Cordierite$(2MgO.2Al_2O_3.5SiO_2)$ + 30 [wt%]clay + X[wt%]MnO_2$ of infrared radiator have been investigated as a function of $MnO_2$ additives (X=0, 0.1, 0.25, 0.5, 1.0, 1.5, 2.0, 2.5). The thermal expansion coefficient was decreased and the spectral emissivity was increased only in the below $4.5{\mu}m$ wavelength with increasing amaunts(wt%) of $MnO_2$ additives. Also, the infrared radiator of Cordierite system which spectral emissivity was approximately 1.0 can be attainable at from $4.5{\mu}m$ to $8{\mu}m$ wavelength. The spectral emissivity was decreased from $8{\mu}m$ to $14{\mu}m$ at X=2.5.

  • Mg$_2$SnO$_4$having an inverse spinel structure was selected as a new host material of $Mn^{2+}$ activator. The luminescence of the $Mg_2$SnO$_4$:Mn phosphor prepared by the solid-state reaction were investigated under ultraviolet and low-voltage electron excitation. The Mn-doped magnesium tin oxide exhibited strong green emission with the spectrum centered at 500nm wavelength. It was explained that the green emission in $Mg_2$SnO$_4$:Mn phosphor is due to energy transfer from $^4T_1to ^6A_1\;of\; Mn^{2+}$ ion at tetrahedral site in the spinel structure. The optimum concentration of $Mn^{2+}$/ion exhibiting maximum emission intensity by the low-voltage electron excitation was 0.6mol%. ?

  • The effect of micro-pulse plasma nitriding temperature and time on the case thickness, hardness and nitride formation in the surface of Fe-12Cr-22Mn-X alloy with 3% Co and 1% Ti alloys elements investigated. External compound layer and internal diffusion layer was constituted in plasma nitride case of Fe-12Cr-22Mn-X alloys and formed nitride phase such as ${\gamma}'-Fe4N\;and\;{\varepsilon}-Fe2-3N$. Case depth increased with increasing the plasma nitriding temperature and time. Surface hardness of nitrided Fe-12Cr-22Mn-X alloys obtained the above value of Hv 1,600 and case depth obtained the above value of $45{\mu}m$ in Fe-12Cr-22Mn-3Co alloy and $60{\mu}m$ in Fe-12Cr-22Mn-1Ti alloy. Wear-resistance increased with increasing plasma nitriding time and showing the higher value in Fe-12Cr-22Mn-1Ti alloy than Fe-12Cr-22Mn-3Co alloy.

망간침출액에서 불화칼슘화에 의한 高純度 망간酸化物의 製造 (Production of High purity $Mn_3O_4$Powder by Precipitation of Calcium fluoride in the Manganese Leaching Solution)

  • 고탄소페로망간을 중저탄소페로망간으로 제조하는 AOD공정에서 발생되는 분진은 약 90%가 $Mn_3$$O_4$이므로, 이를 이용하여 soft ferrite의 원료인 고순도 $Mn_3$$O_4$분말을 제조하기 위해서는 침출한 액의 Mn을 더욱 정제하여야 한다. 분진을 활성탄으로 배소하여 MnO로 환원시키고, 상온의 4N 염산수용액에 180g/L의 환원된 분진을 첨가하면 용액의 pH가 5이상이 되고 Fe와 Si가 침전으로 제거된 약 10%의 망간침출액이 얻어진다. Mn의 농도가 약 15000 ppm이 되도록 희석한 $70^{\circ}C$의 침출액에 F의 농도가 3000ppm이 되도록 $NH_4$F를 첨가하면 Ca가 침전하여 약14 ppm이하로 제거된다. Ca를 침전시킨 상징액에(NH$ 1.5M_4$)$_2$$CO_3$수용액을 2L/min으로 Mn의 당량만큼 첨가하면 미립의 고순도 $MnCO_3$가 침전한다. 침전을 여과하고 건조한 후에 $1000^{\circ}C$에서 2 시간 소성하면 median size가 $8.2mu$m인$ Mn_3$O$_4$를 얻을 수 있다. 제조된 산물은 99%이상의 순도로 soft ferrite용 Mn$O_3$$_4$분말의 규격을 만족한다.

  • Spinel cathode material $LiMn_2O_4$ is currently studied as a promising cathode material for lithium ion secondary batteries for future applications because of it is low cost, easy to be prepared and capable to be operated in high voltage range. However as a cathode material, $LiMn_2O_4$ performs a poor capacity retention which leads to short cycle life. In this study, stoichiometric $LiMn_2O_4$ was synthesized with granulation method with ion substitution to stabilize its structure and niobium doping to improve its conductivity. These well-mixed powders were calcined at $850^{\circ}C$ for 6 hours and its properties were investigated. Correlations of dopant and electrochemical properties were examined as well.

  • Charge/discharge property of LiMn2O4 was investigated with LiMn2O4/Li cell for use of lithium ion battery in electric vehicle. LiMn2O4 calcined at $800^{\circ}C$ for 36hr show high charge/discharge capacity and excellent cycle stability than that of others. This is found to be in agreement with expectation in the X-ray diffraction analysis. In addition, the kind and volume of conductive agent involved in LiMn2O4 cathode is excellent at super-s-black and 20wt%, respectively.

  • Li ion전지용 LiMn$_{2}$O$_{4}$분말을 졸-겔법과 고상반응법으로 제조하여 분말의 특성과 전지의 특성을 비교하였다. 졸-겔법에 의해 제조된 LiMn$_{2}$O$_{4}$분말은 고상반응법에 의해 제조된 분말보다 낮은 온도에서 합성이 가능하고, 균질하고 작은 입자들로 구성되었으며, Li stoichiometry가 우수하여 전지의 방전용량이 크나 양이온 혼합도가 높아 전지의 내부저항이 크게 나타났다. 졸-겔법은 높은 Li stoichiometry와 균질한 입자 크기를 갖는 LiMn$_{2}$O$_{4}$분말 제조에 적당한 것으로 생각되며, 전지의 내부저항 문제는 분말의 하소온도와 냉각속도의 조절에 의해 가능할 것으로 판단된다.

  • We investigated the preferred orientation, electrical and magnetic properties of the Mn-Zn ferrite thin films deposited on SiO2/Si(100) by ion beam sputtering. The Cu-added Mn-Zn ferrite thin films had a preferred orientation of (111) with a weak orientation, (311). While the Zn-added one had a strong (111) preferred orientation. The saturation magnetization of the Cu- or Zn-doped Mn-Zn ferrite films increased with increasing substrate temperature (Ts) due to the increase of grain size and the enhancement of crystallinity. For the same reason the coercivity of Cu- or Zn-doped Mn-Zn ferrite films deposited at low Ts increased with increasing Ts, but those of the films deposited at high Ts slightly decreased not only because the defect density of the films decreases but because more grains have multi-domains with increasing Ts. The resistivity of Cu- or Zn-added Mn-Zn ferrite thin fims measured by complex impedance method decreased with increasing Ts due to the ehhancement of crystallinity as well as due to the increase of grain size.

Apatite를 이용한 중금속 제거 (The Removal of Heavy Metals in Aqueous Solution by Hydroxyapatite)

  • The hydroxyapatite (HAp) for the present study was prepared by precipitation method in semiconductor fabrication and the crystallized at ambient to 95$0^{\circ}C$ for 30min in electric furnace. The ion-exchange characteristics of HAp for various heavy metal ions such as $Cd^{2+}, Cu^{2+}, Mn^{2+}, Zn^{2+}, Fe^{2+}, Pb^{2+}, Al^{3+}, and Cr^{6+}$ in aqueous solution has been investigated. The removal ratio of various metal ions for HAp were investigated with regard to reaction time, concentration of standard solution, amount of HAp and pH of solution. The order of the ions exchanged amount was as follws: $Pb^{2+}, Fe^{3+}>Cu^{2+}>Zn^{2+}>Al^{3+}>Cd^{2+}>Mn^{2+}>Cr^{6+}. The Pb^{2+}$ ion was readily removed by the Hap, even in the strongly acidic region. The maximum amount of the ion-exchange equilibrium for $Pb^{2+}$ ion was about 45 mg/gram of HAp. The HAp would seem to be possible agent for the removal of heavy metal ions in waste water by recycling of waste sludge in semiconductor fabrication.

리튬 이온 폴리머 전지용 고용량 LiMnO2-organic Composite 정극의 전기화학적 특성 (Electrochemical Properties of LiMnO2-organic Composite Cathodes with High Capacity for Lithium Ion Polymer Battery)

  • The purpose of this study is to research and develop LiMnO$_2$-organic and Li$_{0.3}$MnO$_{2}$-organic composite with high energy density for Lithium ion polymer battery. This paper describes cyclic voltammetry, impedance sepctroscopy, electrochemical properties of LiMnO$_2$-organic and Li$_{0.3}$MnO$_{2}$-organic composite with polymer electrolyte as a function of a mixed ratio. The first discharge capacity of LiMnO$_2$-PAn with 3 wt.% PAn was 83mHA/g, while that of Li$_{0.3}$MnO$_{2}$-PPy composite was 136 mAh/g. The Ah efficiency was above 98% after the 2nd cycle. The LiMnO$_2$-PAn with DMcT 2 wt.% and Li$_{0.3}$MnO$_{2}$-PPy composites cathode with 5wt. PPy in PVDF-PC-EC-LiClO$_4$ electrolyte showed good capaity with cycling. The discharge capacity of LiMnO$_2$-PAn with wt.% DMcT was 80 and 130 mAh/g at 1st and 12th cycle, respectively. The capacity of LiMnO$_2$-PAn composite with 2 wt.% DMcT was higher than that of LiMnO$_2$-PAn composite.mposite.
