Regulation of cell proliferation is a complex process involving the regulated expression and /or modification of discrete gene products. which control transition between different stages of the cycle. The purpose of this short review is to provide an overview of somatic cell cycle events and their controls. Cycline have appeared as major positive regulators in this network, because their association to the cyclin-dependent kinases(Cdks) allows the subsequent activation on the Cdk/cyclin complexes and their catalatic activity. In mammalian cells, early to mid G1 progression and late G1 progression leading to S phase entry are directed by D-type cyclins-Cdk4, 6 and cyclin E-Cdk 2 both of which can phosphorylate the retinoblastoma protein (pRB). pRB is a transcriptional repressor which, in its unphosphorylated state, binds to members of the E2F transcription factor family and blocks E2F-dependent transcription of genes controlling the G1 to S phase transition an subsequent DNA synthesis. Cyclin A is produced in late G1 and expressed during S and G2 phae, and expression of B-type cyclins is typically maximal during the G2 to M phase transition and it controls the passage through M phase. They primarily associate with the activate Cdk2, and Cdc2, respectively. On the other hand, the Cdk inhibitors negatively control the activity of C아/cyclin complex by coordinating internal and/or external signals and impending proliferation at several key checkpoints. These current and further findings will provide novel approaches to understanding and treating major diseases.
The phase transition of vortex matter from solid to liquid was studied in iron-based superconductors. Based on the traditional vortex glass theory, we have examined the magnetoresistivity data of iron-based superconductors using our extended thermal activation model: $\rho(B,T)=\rho((T-T_g(B))/(T_c(0)-T_g(B)))^{v(z-1)}$. We predict that the magnetic field-dependent area S + $S_0$ which integrates $\rho$ with T is proportional to $B^{\beta}$, where ${\beta}$ is the vortex glass transition exponent. From our calculation, the vortex glass transition exponent is 0.33, close to the exponent of area $S_0$ + S is 0.31 in $SmO_{0.9}F_{0.1}FeAs$; the exponent of area S is 0.63, which is close to the irreversibility line exponent 2/3. Both of the results show the validity of our model. In addition, our model is shown to be effective in describing irreversibility behavior in layered superconductors.

The magnetoresistance (MR) of $La_{1-\chi}S_{\chi}CoO_{3-\delta}$ films prepared by pulsed-laser deposition were investigated in order to clarify the magnetotransport properties around the metal-insulator transition. For the films in the metallic state ($\chi$ > 0.25), the MR(T) manifests a small peak at the Curie temperature due to the spin-disorder scattering. The transition of the film into the insulating state ($\chi\;\leq$ 0.25) is accompanied by an essential growth of the MR and results in a significant increase in the MR(T) with decreasing temperature, due to a phase separation into the ferromagnetic-metal clusters and the insulating matrix.
The effect of ginseng glycosides and their aglycones on the thermodynamic characteristics of membranes from dipalmitoylphosphatidylcholine (DPPC) was investigated. Total saponins (TS) from Korean red ginseng, Panax ginseng C.A. Meyer, interacted with the Eel Phase of lipid in the Polar region and did not penetrate the deeper glycerol backbone of lipid molecule. From the all investigated components of TS (aglycons and ginsenosides), only 20-(S)-panaxadiol (PD) had an effect similar to TS. High concentration of TS penetrated in hydrophobic Cl-C8 region. The presence of cholesterol did not influence the interaction of TS with DPPC. An elimination of transition, however, took place at 10~100 $\mu\textrm{g}$/ml of TS. DPPC had a low ability to interact with cholesterol (CHL) as compared with other lecithins except ethanolamine. From our results, only TS and PD, at high concentrations (100 mol%), influenced the phase transition of mixture of DPPC:CHL.
We have studied the phase transition to look for molecular structure by using several different techniques for new banana-shaped liquid crystals shown in Fig. 1. Based on the similarities to recently observed fluro-contaning materials (switching involves layer structure rearrangement, increasing threshold with increasing temperature) for HC sample (where x is H), we assume that the phase C has a triclinic symmetry corresponding to the double tilted $smC_G$ Phase. The observation that the polarization peak appears at lower field ($E_o{\sim}15V/{\mu}m$) than the amplitude of the threshold ($E_{th}$) can be explained assuming a field induced $SmC_G$ - SmCP (or SmAP) transition at $E_{th}$
The gas phase identity nucleophilic substitution reactions of halide anions (X = F, Cl, Br) with cyclopentadienyl halides (1) are investigated at the B3LYP/6-311+G**, MP2/6-311+G** and G2(+)MP2 levels involving five reaction pathways: σ-attack $S_N2$, β-$S_N$2'-syn, β-$S_N$2'-anti, γ-$S_N$2'-syn and γ-$S_N$2'-anti paths. In addition, the halide exchange reactions at the saturated analogue, cyclopentyl halides (2), and the monohapto circumambulatory halide rearrangements in 1 are also studied at the same three levels of theory. In the σ-attack $S_N2$ transition state for 1 weak positive charge develops in the ring with X = F while negative charge develops with X = Cl and Br leading to a higher energy barrier with X = F but to lower energy barriers with X = Cl and Br than for the corresponding reactions of 2. The π-attack β-$S_N$2' transition states are stabilized by the strong $n_C-{\pi}^{*}_{C=C}$ charge transfer interactions, whereas the π-attack γ-$S_N$2' transition states are stabilized by the strong $n_C-{\sigma}^{*}_{C-X}$ interactions. For all types of reaction paths, the energy barriers are lower with X = F than Cl and Br due to the greater bond energy gain in the partial C-X bond formation with X = F. The β-$S_N$2' paths are favored over the γ-$S_N$2' paths only with X = F and the reverse holds with X = Cl and Br. The σ-attack $S_N2$ reaction provides the lowest energy barrier with X = Cl and Br, but that with X = F is the highest energy barrier path. Activation energies for the circumambulatory rearrangement processes are much higher (by more than 18 kcal $mol^{-1}$) than those for the corresponding $S_N2$ reaction path. Overall the gas-phase halide exchanges are predicted to proceed by the σ-attack $S_N2$ path with X = Cl and Br but by the β-$S_N$2'-anti path with X = F. The barriers to the gas-phase halide exchanges increase in the order X = F < Br < Cl, which is the same as that found for the gas-phase identity methyl transfer reactions.
Although previous studies have implicated a role for TC1 (C8orf4) in cancer cell proliferation, the molecular mechanism of its action is still largely unclear. In this study, we showed, for the first time, that the mRNA levels of TC1 were upregulated by mitogens (FBS/thrombin) and at least partially, through the ERK1/2 signaling pathway. Interestingly, the over-expression of TC1 promoted the $G_1$- to S-phase transition of the cell cycle, which was delayed by the deficiency of ERK1/2 signaling in fibroblast cells. Furthermore, the luciferase reporter assay indicated that the over-expression of TC1 significantly increased Cyclin D1 promoter-driven luciferase activity. Taken together, our findings revealed that TC1 was involved in the mitogen-activated ERK1/2 signaling pathway and positively regulated $G_1$- to S-phase transition of the cell cycle. Our results may provide a novel mechanism of the role of TC1 in the regulation of cell proliferation.
Magnetic field induced structural transition has been systematically investigated for $La_{1-x}Ba_xMnO_3$ with the fine control of carrier doping $(0.15{\leq}x{\leq}0.20)$. Application of a magnetic field results in the suppression of the rhombohedral-orthorhombic transition temperature $(T_s)$ and the increase of insulator-metal transition temperature $(T_{MI})$. Near x = 0.17, where $T_S$ is similar to $T_{MI}$ at zero magnetic field, we found that the $T_S$ smoothly decreased with magnetic field even though it intersected the $T_{MI}$ near 3 T. Also, the magnetostructural phase diagram obtained from the temperature sweep and from the magnetic field sweep is not significantly modified. By comparing the magnetostructural transition in $La_{1-x}Sr_xMnO_3$, we have suggested that the large disorder originated from ionic size differences between La and Ba may weaken the sensitivity of the kinetic energy of $e_g$ electrons on the degree of lattice distortion in $La_{1-x}Ba_xMnO_3$.
Gas-phase alkylations of delocalized ambident anions, Y---CH---X- where X, Y=CH2, O, or S, have been investigated theoretically at the MP2/6-31+G*//MP2/6-31+G* and QCISD/6-31+G*//MP2/6-31+G* lev-els. O-and S-alkylations (X=O and S) are more favored kinetically by ΔE^≠ = 4.6 and 9.8 kcal mol-1 than the respective C-alkylations even though they are thermodynamically less favored by 22.4 and 6.0 kcal mol-1 respectively. It was found that the transition structures for the C-alkylations are imbalanced due to the endoergic rehybridi-zation of the carbon center from sp2 to sp3 which leads to premature bond contraction of the C-Y bond and delayed bond stretching of the C-X bond. In the O-, or S-alkylation, such endoergic process is not required since the σ-lone pair on O or S is involved in the initial stage of alkylation. The imbalanced TSs for the C-alkylation are accompanied by higher intrinsic barriers and deformation energies.

In this paper, we analyze the structure characteristics of $As_{40}Se_{50-x}S_{x}Ge_{10}$ system bulk and thin films. As the results of XRD patterns, it identified amorphous state. In order to find the glass transition temperature($T_g$), crystallization($T_c$) and melting point ($T_m$)of bulk sample, it ascertained that TS1gT is 238$^{\circ}C$ in $As_{40}Se_{15}S_{35}Ge_{10}$, and 231$^{\circ}C$ in $As_{40}Se_{25}S_{25}Ge_{10}$ & $As_{40}Se_{50}Ge_{10}$ following the thernal analysis by DSC, DTA, & TGA method. Also it was confirmed the phase seperation of continuous phase and dispertion phase by the optical texture of polarizing microscope and $T_g$ near 20$0^{\circ}C$ in thin film. Therefore, it was found that it occurs the phase seperation of Ge-rich dontinuous phase and Se-rich dispersion phase following the EDS analysis of thin film and the surface SEM photograph.
