사출성형기용 실린더의 응력안전성에 관한 수치적 연구 (Numerical Study on the Stress Safety of a Cylinder for an Injection Molding Machine)

  • This study presents the stress safety analysis of a cylinder, which is manufactured by a tempered ASTM D2, tempered SM45C and normalized SM45C materials, respectively. The inner diameter of three cylinder models are 85mm, 95mm, and 11 Omm and the total length of a cylinder is 2,365mm for a high pressure injection molding machine. The FEM computed results show that the inner diameter of 85mm with a thick thickness of 62.5mm may produce the injection pressure of 325MPa and the inner diameter of 110mm with 50mm thickness reduces up to the injection pressure of 220MPa because of a reduced thickness of a cylinder. These injection pressures are enough for a high pressure injection molding machine assembled by ASTM D2 cylinder. And also, an injection cylinder manufactured by a tempered SM45C material in which is low priee may produce 225MPa injection molding pressure and this may sufficiently endure stress safety compared to that of ASTM D2 cylinder material. Thus, this study recommends that tempered SM45C cylinder is appropriated for a mild injection molding machine as an alternative cylinder material when the safety strength and low prices are considered. But the normalized SM45C cylinder material does not meet a stress safety of yield strength in general.

ANALYSIS OF THE SUITABLE INJECTION PRESSURE FOR DIESEL INJECTION WITH HIGH PRESSURE

  • Spray patterns were visualized using the shadowgraph method, and the droplet size and velocity were measured using PDPA for high-pressure injections up to 2,600 bars. The spray pattern and spray characteristics, such as penetration, spray width, spray angle, droplet size, injection duration, and droplet velocity, were investigated to determine the suitable injection pressure. Spray penetration, width, angle, and velocity increased continuously up to 2,600 bars with the injection pressure in a high-pressure region. The rate of improvement of the above spray characteristics, however, declined rapidly, when the injection pressure reached 2,000 bars. The injection duration and droplet size generally decreased with the increase in the injection pressure, while the rate of improvement decreased abruptly after 2,000 bars. Consequently, the improvement rate of the spray characteristics became blunt at over 2,000 bars. This means that the suitable injection pressure is around 2,000 bars.

  • Spray and combustion characteristics were investigated to find suitable injection pressure by using ultra high pressure injection and single shot diesel combustion systems. As injection pressure was increased, spray penetration and spray angle were increased continuously until 2,000bar, but after this injection pressure region the rate of increase was decreased suddenly. Combustion characteristics were also enhanced until 2,000bar of injection pressure.

격납용기내에서 분무형 나트륨화재 현상 해석 (Analysis of spray sodium fire phenomena in the containment vessel)

  • A hypothetical accident in the containment vessel of liquid metal reactor could cause a pressure, temperature rise, and a strong aerosol release. The computer codes relating to the modelization of these accident make it necessary to use various input parameter, among which is the dynamic shape factor of aerosols produced. Combustion experiments of sodium spray fire carried out in a closed vessel, which was vertical cylinder made of 1.2m in diameter and 1.8m hight with a volume of 1.7$m^3$. The results of theoretical analysis presented here was compared to data obtained from experiments. The experimental results were summarized as follows. 1) The aerodynamic diameter and geometric diameter of aerosols are decreasing with increasing of injection pressure and injection temperature of sodium 2) The dynamic shape factor of aerosol is proportional to the aerodynamic diameter for a given particle. 3) The correspondence between the aerodynamic diameter and geometric diameter can be as $D_{ae}=0.70 D_{ge}$. 4) Peak pressure rose with increase in pressure and temperature of injection sodium, being more sensitive to the injection pressure than the injection temperature.

  • Impinging spray characteristics were investigated to find suitable injection pressure by using high pressure injection system. Spray radius and spray height were increased continuously until 2,500bar but the rate of enhancement was decreased suddenly over this injection pressure region. It is expected that the maximum suitable injection pressure of impinging spray exists at around 2,500bar.

  • In order to investigate the droplet size distribution and Sauter Mean Diameter in a ultra high pressure diesel spray, fuel was injected with ultra high pressure into the environments of high pressure and room temperature by an Electronic Hydraulic Fuel Injection System. Droplet size was measured with the immersion liquid sampling technique. The immersion liquid was used a mixture of water-methycellulose solution and ethanol. The Sauter Mean Diameter decreased with increasing injection pressure, with a decrease environmental pressure (back pressure) and nozzle diameter. Increasing the injection pressure makes the fuel density distribution of the spray more homogeneous. An empirical correlation was developed among injection pressure, air density, nozzle diameter and the Sauter Mean Diameter of spray droplets.

  • 환형 노즐을 갖는 불화중수소 화학레이저 시스템에서 레이저빔 발진은 불소 원자와 중수소 분자의 혼합을 통해서 얻어진다. 초음속 연소기에서 연료의 분사각이 성능에 큰 영향을 미친다는 연구에 근거하여, 혼합률을 증진시키기 위한 연구로서 주유동과 일정각을 가지고 분사되는 중수소의 불소 원자와의 혼합률 증진에 대한 수치적 연구를 수행하였다. 중요 결과로서 중수소 분사각(10, 20, 40도)이 커짐에 따라서 최대 소신호 광학이득계수와 레이저 공동내의 압력이 상승하게 된다. 또한, 광학이득계수와 공동압력의 관점에서 불화중수소 화학레이저 발진을 위한 최대 성능은 20~40도 사이의 중수소 분사각에서 나타난다.

Artificial Neural Network를 이용한 사출압력과 사출성형품의 무게 예측에 대한 연구 (A study on the prediction of injection pressure and weight of injection-molded product using Artificial Neural Network)

  • This paper presents Artificial Neural Network(ANN) method to predict maximum injection pressure of injection molding machine and weights of injection molding products. 5 hidden layers with 10 neurons is used in the ANN. The ANN was conducted with 5 Input parameters and 2 response data. The input parameters, i.e., melt temperature, mold temperature, fill time, packing pressure, and packing time were selected. The combination of the orthogonal array L27 data set and 23 randomly generated data set were applied in order to train and test for ANN. According to the experimental result, error of the ANN for weights was $0.49{\pm}0.23%$. In case of maximum injection pressure, error of the ANN was $1.40{\pm}1.19%$. This value showed that ANN can be successfully predict the injection pressure and the weights of injection molding products.

  • To find suitable injection pressure, ultra high pressure impinging spray characteristics were investigated with a impinging distance and a impinging angle by using high pressure injection system. As impinging distance was increased, spray penetration was decreased but spray height was increased. For increase of injection pressure, spray penetration and spray height were increased until 2,500bar. But over this injection pressure region, the rate of increase was decreased suddenly.

  • Urea-SCR시스템에 적용하기 위한 액막형 선회분사기의 분사압력변화에 따른 분무특성이 실험적으로 조사되었다. 실험에 사용된 노즐은 형상비 3.1을 갖는 단공 압력식 액막형 선회노즐이며, 노즐선단에 분사되는 유체에 선회류를 형성하기 위한 선회기가 설치되어 있다. 노즐의 분사량 조절은 PWM(pulse width modulation)기법에 의해 제어되었다. 분무의 발달과정은 2차원 PIV에 의해 가시화되었으며, 분무각 변화가 조사되었다. 분무액적의 속도 및 크기는 2차원 PDPA에 의해 상온 대기압 조건에서 측정되었다. 분무구조는 분사압력에 큰 영향을 받으며, SMD는 분사압력 증가에 따라 감소하며 선행연구자의 반실험적 결과와 유사한 경향을 보임을 알 수 있었다.
