Ar과 $CO_2$ 첨가에 따른 디젤기관의 성능에 관한 연구 (A Study on Diesel Engine Performance with Ar and $CO_2$ Addition)

  • The re quest to develop the engines that are able to run without air or with very little oxygen condition is raised with the interest of ocean science or the mines. This research had already be gun before the world war II, but had been stagnant owing to the appearance of nuclear power. Recycle diesel engines have ability to run under the above mentioned condition the recycle diesel engine recirculates exhaust gases into intake port and consumes additional oxygen supplied by oxygen tank. Carbon dioxide is controlled by the absorber. The combustion and emission characteristics of recycle diesel engines are quite different with conventional one because the working fluids of recycle diesel engines consist of Ar, $CO_2$ and $O_2$ as well as $N_2$. Recycle diesel engine is therefore different with general diesel engine from the viewpoint of intake air composition. It is required to investigate the effect of intake composition in the combustion and emission to know recycle diesel engine. In this study, NOx concentration, smoke and cylinder pressure are measured with the variation of Ar and $CO_2$ Reduces show that the addition of Ar reduces NOx but increases smoke. Otherwise $CO_2$ reduces smoke and NOX simultaneously. Only $CO_2$ increases the ignition delay and both gases increase fuel consumption Ar addition is superior to $CO_2$ addition for the performance of recycle diesel engine system but $CO_2$ has the avantage with respect to emission.

Ti 및 Mo 첨가에 따른 치과 CAD/CAM용 Ni-Cr 및 Co-Cr합금의 표면분석 (Surface Analysis of Ni-Cr and Co-Cr Alloys with Addition of Ti and Mo for Dental CAD/CAM Use)

  • In this study, surface analysis of Ni-Cr and Co-Cr alloys with addition of Ti and Mo for dental CAD/CAM use has been researched experimentally. The surface characteristics of the alloys were examined by Vickers hardness test, bonding strength test, surface roughness test, field-emission scanning electron microscopy, energy dispersive X-ray spectroscopy, and X-ray diffraction spectroscopy. The shrinkage of the sintered Ni-Cr alloy alloy was slightly larger than that of Ni-Cr-Ti alloy, and larger than Co-Cr alloy. Also, the addition of Mo showed a tendency to decrease shrinkage somewhat. From the result of XRD analysis, NiCr, $Ni_3Cr$ and $Ni_3Ti$ were observed in the sintered Ni-13Cr-xTi and Ni-13Cr-xMo alloys. In addition, ${\sigma}-CrCo$, $Co_2Mo_3$ and $TiCo_2$ were formed in the sintered Co-Cr-xTi and Co-Cr-xMo alloys. Surface hardness of Ti and Mo added alloy was higher than those of Ni-Cr and Co-Cr alloy. The bond strength between sintered alloy and porcelain was $16.1kgf/mm^2$ for Ni-13Cr alloy, $17.8kgf/mm^2$ for Ni-13Cr-5Ti alloy, and $8.2kgf/mm^2$ for Ni-13Cr-10Ti alloy, respectively.

The Effect of Carbon Monoxide on Contraction, Cytosolic $Ca^{2+}$ Level and Ionic Currents in Guinea Pig Ileal Smooth Muscle

  • The aim of this study was to clarify the mechanism of the inhibitory action of carbon monoxide (CO) on contraction, by measuring cytosolic $Ca^{2+}$ level $([Ca^{2+}]_i)$ and ionic currents in guinea-pig ileum. CO (10%) inhibited 40 mM KCl-induced contraction and this effect was blocked by ODQ $(1\;{\mu}M),$ a soluble guanylyl cyclase (sGC) inhibitor. CO inhibited the 40 mM KCl-induced contraction without changing $[Ca^{2+}]_i.$ Cumulative addition of KCl induced a graded increase in $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ and muscle tension. In the presence of CO, cumulative addition of KCl induced smaller contraction than in the absence of CO. On the other hand, the increase in $[Ca^{2+}]_i$ induced by cumulative addition of KCl was only slightly decreased in the presence of CO, and the $[Ca^{2+}]_i-tension$ relationship shifted downwards. Using the patch clamp technique with a holding potential of -60 mV, we found that CO had little effect on the peak Ba currents $(I_{Ba})$ when voltage was stepped from -60 mV to 0 mV. In addition, CO showed no effect on the depolarization-activated outward $K^+$ currents in the all potential ranges. We conclude that CO inhibits smooth muscle contraction mainly by decreasing the $Ca^{2+}$ sensitivity of contractile elements via a cGMP-dependent pathway, not by involving L-type $Ca^{2+}$ and outward-potassium currents in guinea-pig ileum.

  • Put four different kinds of Jangdongsi, Pasi, Gamsi, and Taebongsi etc. into glass bottle(Fig. 1) of 1150ml and after modulated constitution of air girding this, by means of $CO_2$ the keep in cold storage on $0{\sim}5^{\circ}C$. The results are as follows : 1. $CO_2$ non-addition group was not changed it's own color to four months regardless of kind of persimmons 2. $CO_2$ added test group by double quantity of container was not more rapidly discoloration. 3. One - half quantity of test group added double, same, one-half and one of fifth quantity of container was the most effect, $CO_2$ as the same kind in S. T. P. 4. Taebongsi of test group of four different kinds added one-half quantity of $CO_2$ was maintained effectually possible it's natural color till seven months. 5. In taste, non-addition of $CO_2$ existed astringency taste but addition of $CO_2$ showed sweet taste like a Gamsi since two months of storage.

Al 합금의 MIG 용접에서 WC-12%Co 분말에 첨가에 의한 경화육성층의 특성 (Characteristics of the Hard-Overlayers by WC-12%Co Powder Addition in MIG Welding of Al Alloy)

  • It was attempted to improve the wear resistance of Al alloy under the load condition by making a formation of the thick surface hardening alloy layers. The thick surface hardening alloy layers were formed on 6061 Al alloys overlayed by MIG welding process with WC-12%Co powder addition. Effects of the dispersion of WE-12%Co powders on hardness and wear characteristics of alloys were investigated. The following results were obtained. Most of WE-12%Co powders are dispersed nearly uniform as unmelted particles in the matrix alloy. A part of WC-12%Co powders are melted in the molten pool, and during solidification {TEX}$Al_{9}Co_{2}${/TEX} appeared. With increasing addition of WC-12%Co powders, the hardness and specific wear resistance of the overlay weld alloys increased and reached Hv450 at WC-12%Co powder addition rate of 54g/min. It is considered that excellent wear resistance of the overlayed alloys was due to dispersed WC-12%Co powders and increased 10 times at WC-12%Co powder addition rate of 54 g/min than that of the WC-free overlaying layers.

대기 이산화탄소 증가와 질소 시비가 백합나무 유묘의 생장과 탄소 흡수에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Elevated Atmospheric CO2 and Nitrogen Fertilization on Growth and Carbon Uptake of Yellow Poplar Seedlings)

  • 본 연구는 기후변화 하에서 우리나라 기후와 산림토양에 적합한 수종을 개발하기 위해서, 상부 개방형 온실(Open Top Chamber)을 이용하여, $CO_2$ 농도를 대기보다 1.4배와 1.8배 증가시킨 상태에서, 질소 농도에 따른 백합나무의 생리적 반응을 조사하고자 실시하였다. 백합나무 유묘의 건중량은 모든 $CO_2$ 농도 하에서, 질소 시비량의 증가와 함께 증가하였다. 그러나 $CO_2$ 농도 증가에 따른 백합나무 건중량 변화는 질소 시비 농도에 따라 다른 결과를 보였다. 총 엽록소와 카로테노이드 함량은 모든 질소 시비구에서 $CO_2$ 농도 증가와 함께 증가하였으나, 질소 시비에 대한 효과는 $CO_2$ 농도에 따라 차이가 있었다. 백합나무의 광합성 특성은 $CO_2$ 측정 농도, $CO_2$ 처리 농도 및 질소 시비 농도에 따라 차이를 보였으며, 기공전도도와 증산속도는 $CO_2$ 처리에 의해 증가하였다. 백합나무의 탄소고정효율은 $CO_2$ 농도 증가와 함께 증가하는 경향을 보였으나, 질소 시비구에서는 $CO_2$ 농도 증가에 의해 오히려 감소하였다. 백합나무의 잎, 줄기, 뿌리에 축적된 질소와 탄소 함량은 $CO_2$ 증가와 질소 시비와 함께 증가하였다. 결론적으로 $CO_2$ 농도가 높은 상태에서 백합나무의 생리적 특성과 탄소 흡수 능력은 질소 시비에 의해서 개선되거나 증가하였지만, $CO_2$ 농도에 따라 크게 영향을 받았다.

  • The effects of sintering atmosphere and dopant addition on the behavior of densification and grain growth of SnO2 ceramics were investigated with consideration of defect chemistry. CoO and Nb2O5 were chosen as dopants, and oxygen and nitrogen were used for controlling of sintering atmospheres. With the decrease of oxygen partial pressure, densification was depressed due to evaporation of SnO2 ceramics. In the case of SnO2 sintering, the addition of CoO, which produced oxygen vacancy in SnO2 ceramics, led to acceleration of densification and grain growth. On the contrary, when Nb2O5 as a dopant producing Sn vacancy was added to SnO2 ceramics, densification and grain growth were simultaneously retarded. As results, it was conformed that diffusion of oxygen ions was rate determinant in densification and grain growth of SnO2 ceramics.

H2-공기와 CO-공기 예혼합 화염 사이의 후류상호작용에 있어서 H2O 첨가 효과 (Effects of H2O Addition in Downstream Interaction between H2-Air and CO-Air Premixed Flames)

  • Numerical study was conducted to clarify effects of added $H_2O$ for the downstream interaction between $H_2$-air and CO-air premixed flames in counterflow configuration. The reaction mechanism adopted was Davis model which had been known to be well in agreement with reliable experimental data. The results showed that both lean and rich flammable limits were reduced in increase of strain rate. The most discernible difference between the two with and without having $H_2O$ and/or $H_2$ addition into $H_2$-air and CO-air premixtures was two flammable islands for the former and one island for the latter at high strain flame conditions. Even a small amount of $H_2$, in which $H_2$-air premixed flame cannot be sustained by itself, participates in CO oxidation, thereby altering the CO-oxidation reaction path from the main reaction route $CO+O_2{\rightarrow}CO_2+O$ with a very long chemical time in CO-air flame to the OH-related reaction routes including $CO+OH{\rightarrow}CO_2+H$ with very short chemical times. This intrinsic nature alters flame stability maps appreciably. The results also showed that chemical effects of added $H_2O$ help lean flames at relatively low strain rate be sustained, and suppress the flame stabilization at high strain rates.

Performance of Magnesia Cement Using MgCO3 and Serpentine

  • The amount of carbon dioxide ($CO_2$) released while producing building materials is substantial and has been targeted as a leading contributor to global climate change. One of the most typical methods of reducing $CO_2$ in building materials is the addition of slag and fly ash, like pozzolan material another method is to reduce $CO_2$ production by developing carbon negative cement. MgO-based cement from the low-temperature calcination of magnesite required less energy and emitted less $CO_2$ than the manufacturing of Portland cements. It is also believed that adding reactive MgO to Portland-pozzolan cements can improve their performance and also increase their capacity to absorb atmospheric $CO_2$. In this study, basic research on magnesia cement using $MgCO_3$ and magnesium silicate ore (serpentine) as the main starting materials, as well as blast furnace slag for the mineral admixture, was carried out for industrial waste material recycling. In order to increase the overall hydration activity, $MgCl_2$ was also added. In the case of the addition of $MgCl_2$as accelerating admixture, there was a promoting effect on the compressive strength. This was found to be due to the production of needle-like dense Mg-Cl hydrates. Mgnesia cement has a high viscosity due to its high specific surface area therefore, when the PC-based dispersing agent was added at a level of more than 1.0%, it had the effect of improving fluidity. In particular, the addition of $MgCl_2$ in magnesia cement using $MgCO_3$and magnesium silicate ore (serpentine) as main starting materials led to a lower expansion ratio and an increase in the freeze-thaw resistance finally, the addition of $MgCl_2$ as accelerating admixture led to good overall durability.

C3A-CaSO4·2H2O 계의 수화반응에 미치는 석회석 미분말의 영향 (Effect of Limestone Powder on Hydration of C3A-CaSO4·2H2O System)

  • In this work, effects of limestone powder on hydration of $C_3A-CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$ system was discussed based on the XRD Quantitative analysis, and the possibility of Delayed Ettringite Formation was also discussed. The early hydration of $C_3A$ was delayed by addition of $CaCO_3$ powder. The delay effect was enhanced by increasing of $CaCO_3$ content and finer powder of $CaCO_3$ addition. After consumption of $CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O$, the reaction of $CaCO_3$ is started. Delayed Ettringite Formation would take place because monosulfoaluminate is not stable in presence of $CaCO_3$. In order to prevent the delayed ettringite formation in $C_3A-CaSO_4{\cdot}2H_2O-CaCO_3$ system, the reduction of monosulfoaluminate formation is important. Therefore, by increasing the amount of $CaCO_3$ addition and finer $CaCO_3$ powder addition, the delayed ettringite formation can be prevented.
