  • It is anticipated that, in the 21st century, aesthetic sense will be altered radically with the introduction of new value systems and ethical standards. At the beginning of the 21st century, new aesthetic senses and identities have already emerged and exerted influence to the society, arts and fashion trends. The purpose of this study is to analyze the aesthetic characteristic of the transitional period of the 21st century. This study employed the qualitative analysis and the main aesthetic characteristics of the 21st transitional period were found as hybrid, technicism, neo-retro, new naturalism, and multi-nationalism. The transitional fashion in the 21s1 century mirrors the post-modern trends with diversity and indeterminacy as the basis of changes. It is expected that this pattern will continue to extend persistent and dominant influence to the future fashion industry. In the subsequent study, quantitative analysis wi]1 be conducted to verify the aesthetic characteristics analyzed in this study.

  • This study aimed to identify visuality changes in the $21^{st}century$ digital visual media art through the expension of digital frames based on visuality represented by Cartesian perspectivalism in the modern age. The visuality of perspective, camera obscura and panorama, which are called modern visual systems, was analyzed to illustrate each characteristic from a viewpoint of a seeing subject. These characteristics of the visual systems were restructured to meet the visuality of the digital era through the illustrations of Lacan's gaze. In addition, the characteristics of frames found in the $21^{st}century$ digital visual media art were identified, and they were categorized into and illustrated from physical, convergent and interactional viewpoints. The outcomes were classified into the $21^{st}century$ digital frame types, and new $21^{st}$century digital visual illustrations were suggested based on the results.

  • The famous US quality management expert J. M. Juran pointed out on the American Quality Congress of ASQC in 1994, that the 20th century is a century of productive force and the 21st century would be a century of quality. In the past dozens of years; science and technology have made rapid progress. Take electronic products for example, the non-conformity rate has dropped from 1%($10^{-2}$) and 1%($10^{-3}$) to ppm (parts per million, $10^{-6}$), even to ppb (parts per billion, $10^{-9}$). Such a low non-conformity rate can be called the super strict quality requirements of products of the $21^{st}$ Century. Super strict quality requirements can cause a series of new changes: Therefore, super strict quality requirements are unavoidable to produce significant influences to the industry of the $21^{st}$ century. This paper analyzed these influences and pointed out that which quality sciences must be paid attention to first.

After the first standard established, America standards revised about 10 times to accommodate educational and technological changes. The Americas new school library standards 'empowering learners: guidelines for school library media programs' established by AASL in 2009. The guidelines are relevant to the 'standards for the 21st-century learner', 'standards for the 21st-century learner in action'. The guidelines expected to affect US as well as school library policy of worlds. Thus, this study aimed to analyze the 'standards for the 21st-century learner' and 'standards for the 21st-century learner in action'. The standard for 21st-century learner offer vision for teaching and learning to both guide and beckon our profession as education leaders. They will both shape the library program and serve as a tool for library media specialists to use to shape the learning of students in the school. The standards for the 21st-century learner in action offer how are AASL's new learning standards, the standards for the 21st-century learner, incorporated into the school library.

  • Communication is a process involving a group of interrelated elements working together for the purpose of information transfer. This paper discusses information retrieval as a communication process in the 21st century library. The difficulties associated with access to recorded knowledge through bibliographic control devices have been exacerbated by the interposition of additional encoding processes in the library and further decoding by the users. In addition, the innovation of internet/web has revolutionized the means and mode of communication process in the library by flooding information seekers with information and creating an illusion of self-sufficiency in many users. With these changes in information seeking behaviour and pattern, a cybernetic approach to information retrieval has emerged emphasizing adaptive control mechanisms and feedback processes. This paper argues that libraries should strive to continuously remain relevant by keeping abreast with changes in the behavior of information users. To this end, this paper proposes apomediatic-cybernetic model of communication, which illustrates information retrieval processes for the 21st-century library.
