Effect of Subzero Treatment on the Mechanical Properties and Damping Capacity of Austempered Ductile Cast Ironn (오스템퍼드 구상흑연주철의 기계적 성질 및 감쇠능에 미치는 서브제로처리의 영향)

  • This study was investigated to know the effect of subzero treatment in austempered ductile cast iron. Retained austenite transformed to martensite by subzero treatment. With decreasing subzero treatment temperature, more volume fraction of retained austenite transformed to martensite and transformed to martensite above 30% by subzero treatment temperature at $-196^{\circ}C$. With decreasing subzero treatment temperature, the value of strength and hardness increased but the value of elongation and impact value decreased. In case of subzero treatment at $-196^{\circ}C$, hardness value increased about 18% and impact value decreased by above 20%. We could find that subzero treated specimens had a little of effect on the tensile properties but had very much effect on the hardness and value of the impact.

  • Aromatic diamines containing hexafluoroisopropylidene and ester moiety were synthesized from 4,4'-hexafluoroisopropylidene diphenol and nitrobenzoyl chloride. The reaction of aromatic diamines with hexafluoroisopropylidene phthalicdianhydride (6FDA) or pyromellitic dianhydride (PMDA) gave four kinds of poly(amic acid)s. Their inherent viscosities ranged from 0.196 to 0.346 dL/g. Poly(amic acid)s were converted to polyimides by thermal imidization. The glass transition temperatures ($T_g$) of polyimides were between 241 and $289^{\circ}C$. The 5% weight loss temperatures were recorded in the range of $430{\sim}492^{\circ}C$. The tensile strength of polyimide films were measured as 29.84~64.38 MPa.

  • 현재 PDP(Plasma Display Panel) 상판의 유전체층은 저온에서 소성이 가능한 저융점 유리가 요구되기 때문에 융점을 낮추기에 용이한 PbO계가 주 성분으로 사용되어 오고 있으나. 최근 환경오염 등의 문제점으로 인해 Pb-free을 추구하는 새로운 유리조성의 연구가 많이 수행되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 이미 PDP의 격벽과 봉착용 조성으로 많이 연구되어진 비스무스계 유리를 고려하여 PDP의 투명유전체용 조성을 찾고자 한다. Bi$_2$O$_3$-ZnO-SiO$_2$3원계를 기본으로 하는 유리조성에 유리망목형성제등을 첨가하여 열적특성과 광학적 특성을 조사하였다. 열적특성은 DTA를 이용하여 유리 전이 점(Tg) 및 융점(Tl)등을 측정하였고 TMA를 이용하여 선팽창계수(CTE)를 측정하였으며 유리섬유를 제조한 후 Littleton softening point (Ts)를 측정하였다. 광학적 특성은 페이스트를 제조하여 스크린프린팅 후 54$0^{\circ}C$~$600^{\circ}C$에서 1-2 h동안 소성하여 투광성을 조사하였다. 그 결과로, 열적특성으로는 400~5$50^{\circ}C$의 Tg, 450~$600^{\circ}C$의 Ts 및 5~11$\times$$10^{-6}$K의 CTE 값을 나타 내었고 광학적 특성으로 투광성은 양호한 특성(60% 이상)을 나타내었다. Bi$_2$O$_3$ 계를 현재 PDP의 투명유 전체에 적용시키기에는 유리용융시에 높은 점도와 환원 등의 문제점을 갖고 있지만 열적특성과 광학특성면에서는 가능성을 제시하여 향후 연구를 할 가치가 있다고 본다.

Characteristics of Micro-hardness and Corrosion of Electroless Nickel-Phosphorus Plating depending on Heat Treatment

  • Electroless plating is the desirable surface treatment method which is being widely used to all kinds of material such as requiring corrosion resistance, wear resistance and conductivity, especially plating of nonconductive material. Electroless nickel deposit has particular characteristics including non-magnetic property, amorphous structure, wear resistance, corrosion protection and thermal stability. In this study, electroless nickel plating was studied with an change in hardness and corrosion resistance of electroless nickel-phosphorus deposit depending on heat treatment. The highest hardness value was obtained by heat treatment at $500^{\circ}C$ Corrosion resistance of deposit, which had been heated at $300^{\circ}C$, was excellent when it was immersed in 1M $H_2SO_4$ solution for 60 hrs.

  • Root zone temperature have influenced on protected cultivation in winter season. Especially root zone temperature is acted on limiting factor in crop cultivation. This study was conducted to obtain optimum temperature of root zone in Protected cultivation Root zone was warmed by heated water($28^{\circ}C$) flowing through the PPC pipe(${\phi}15$) buried depth 40 cm. And the flowing water was heated by solar system. Minimum air temperature during night time was set at $14^{\circ}C$ and maximum air temperature during day time was set at $28~30^{\circ}C$ the growing period of cucumber was from Nov. 6, 1996 to Jan. 30, 1997. The results are summarized as follows. 1. Average soil temperature at 15~20 cm depth was $22^{\circ}C$ at warming plots, $17~18^{\circ}C$ at non-warming plots 2. Early growth in leaf length, stem diameter, number of leaves and leaf area for 30 days after planting were accelerated by root zone warming. Especially, the grawing rate of soil warming plots was higher 27% in leaf length, 51% in leaf number, 150% in leaf area than non-warming Plots. Above-ground and underground part of warming plots was higher 117%, 56% than non-warming plots. 3. In total yield analysis, number of fruits were 614 in soil warming and 313 in non-warming plots. Electrical and Optical Properties of the Ga-doped ZnO Thin Films Deposited on PES (Polyethersulfon) Substrate (PES 기판위에 제작한 Ga-doped ZnO 박막의 전기적 및 광학적 특성)

  • We fabricated gallium doped ZnO (GZO, 5 wt% Ga) thin films on PES (polyethersulfon) substrate with RF magnetron sputtering and investigated optical and electrical properties for various substrate temperatures ($50{\sim}200^{\circ}C$). All GZO thin film has c-axis preferred orientation without reference to deposition conditions. As a result of AFM analysis, the GZO thin film deposited at $200^{\circ}C$ exhibited the lowest surface roughness of 0.196nm. The transmittance of GZO thin films were above 80% and Burstein-Moss effect was observed. In the analysis of Hall measurement, we confirmed that the GZO thin film deposited at $200^{\circ}C$ showed the lowest resistivity of $6.93{\times}10-4{\Omega}{\cdot}cm$ and the highest carrier concentration of $7.04{\times}1020/cm^3$.

The Effects of the Warm Ischemic Time, the Preserving Temperature and the Cryopreservation Solution on the Viability of Tracheas (온혈허혈시간과 냉동보존온도와 보존액 조성에 따른 기관의 생육성 비교)

  • Background: Tracheal reconstruction after extended tracheal resection still remains as a major surgical challenge because good clinical outcomes are usually correlated with limited tracheal resection. Recent investigations with a using cryopreserved trachea for the reconstruction of a trachea have been carried out to overcome this problem. In this study, we analyzed viability of tracheas, which is an important determining factor for the success of transplanting a cryopreserved trachea and the development of post-transplantation tracheal stenosis, according to three different experimental factors: 1) the warm-ischemic time, 2) the cryopreservation solution and 3) the preserving temperature, to determine a better cryopreservation protocol and a better composition of the cryopreservation solution. Material and Method: Rats tracheas were harvested for different warm-ischemic times (0 hr, 12 hrs, 24 hrs). The tracheas were treated with recombinant insulin growth factor-1 (IGF) and they were stored at three different temperatures $(4^{\circ}C,\;-80^{\circ}C,\;-196^{\circ}C)$ for two weeks. After two weeks, we thawed the stored trachea and isolated the cells of the tracheas with using type II collagenase. We cultured the cells for seven days and then we compared the cellular viability by the MTT reduction assay. Result: Though cryopreservation is required to preserve a trachea for a longer time period, the viability of the tracheas stored at $-80^{\circ}C$ and $-196^{\circ}C$ was significantly reduced compared to that of the tracheas stored at $4^{\circ}C$. The viability of the tracheas with warm-ischemic times of 12 hrs and 24 hrs was also reduced in comparison to the tracheas with a warm-ischemic time of 0 hrs. Our data showed that the warm ischemic time and the parameters of crypreservation negatively affect on trachea viability. However, a cryopresrvation solution containing IGF-1 improved the cellular viability better than the existing cryopreservation solution. For the warm ischemic time group of a 0 hr, the addition of IGF-1 improved the viability of trachea at all the preserving temperatures. Conclusion: These experiments demonstrate that the viability of cryopreserved trachea can improved by modifying the components of the crypreservation solution with the addition of IGF-1 and reducing the warm-ischemic time.

  • Five crystalline substances, which are positive to$L_{IEBERMAN}-B_{URCHARD}$ reaction, were isolated from the unsaponifiable fraction of the fresh leaves of Betula latifolia $K_{OMAROV}$ (Betulaceae)by silica gel column chromatographic purification. Compound $A\;(C_{29}H_{50}O,\;mp\;136^{\circ}), \;B\;(C_{30}H_{52}O_3,\;mp\;165^{\circ}), \;C\;(C_{30}H_{52}O_4,\;mp\;237^{\circ}), \;D\;(C_{30}H_{52}O_3,\;mp\;196^{\circ})\;and\; E\;(C_{30}H_{52}O_4,\;mp\;121^{\circ})$ were isolated. Compound B was characterized as a new tetracyclic triterpenoid. Compounds A, C and D were identified as ${\beta}-sitosterol$, betulatriterpene C, and betulafolienetriol, respectively.

Effect of Aging Treatment on the Microstructure and Low Temperature Tensile Properties in 5083 Aluminum Alloy Weldments (5083 Al합금 용접재의 조직 및 저온 인장성질메 미치는 시효처리의 영향)

  • The microstructural characteristics and low temperature tensile properties between $25^{\circ}C$ and $-196^{\circ}C$ for as-welded and age hardened specimen by using Al 5083-H321 for base metal, 5083-5356 and 5083-4043 weldments have been investigated. The hardness of 5083-5356 weldment decreases with aging treatment, whereas the weld region of 5083-4043 weldment shows remarkable increase in hardness after aging due to the precipitation of fine Si particle at the grain boundaries and interiors. Low temperature tensile properties of 5083 AI base metal, 5083-5356 and 5083-4043 weldments appear to be the increment of tensile strengths and elongations at the room temperature and $-196^{\circ}C$, while the decrement of tensile properties around $-50^{\circ}C$ is shown. Through the observation of fine serration to fracture in the stress-strain curve and tensile fractography, the increment of localized deformation leading to promote the neck initiation and the increment of the dimple size cause to decrease in tensile strengths and elongations around $-50^{\circ}C$. For the tensile specimen of the 5083 base metal, 5083-5356 and 5083-4043 weldments, the reason to increase in elongation after solution and aging treatment is the diminishment of fine pit, the resolution of Mg into the matrix and the spheridization of the eutectic Si.
