정전압 분극곡선법에 의한 아말감의 부식 거동에 관한 연구 (A STUDY ON THE CORROSION BEHAVIOUR OF AMALGAMS BY USING OF POTENTIOSTATIC POLARIZATION METHOD)

  • The purpose of this study was to observe characteristic properties through the polarization curves and SEM images from 4 different types of amalgam obtained by using the potentiostats (Princeton EG & G) & SEM (Jeol/35), and to investigate the degree of corrosion on the oxidation peak of the each phase of amalgam. After each amalgam alloy and Hg was triturated as the direction of the manufacturer by means of the mechanical amalgamator (Shofu Co.), the triturated mass was inserted into the cylindrical metal mold which was 12mm in diameter and 10.0mm in height and was condensed by using routine manner. The specimen was removed from the mold and stored at room temperature for about 24 hours. The standard surface preparation was routinely carried out. Anodic polarization measurement was employed to confirm the corrosion behaviour of the amalgams in a 0.9% saline solution (P.H: 6.8-7.0) at $37^{\circ}C$. The initial rest potential (corrosion potential) was determined after 30 minutes of immersion of specimen in electrolyte, and the potential scan was begun at the point of 100mV cathodic from the corrosion potential. The scan rate was 0.17mV/sec. in the study to observe the degree of corrosion of each phase. SEI and EPMA images on the determined oxidation peaks of each amalgam were observed. The results were as follows: 1. In the four anodic polarization curves, low copper amalgams have three oxidation peaks and high copper amalgams have two oxidation peaks, -270mV, +26mV and +179mV(SEC) in the low copper lathe cut, and -300mV, +39mV and +163mV(SEC) in the low copper spherical. -4mV and +154mV(SEC) in the Dispersalloy, and +17mV and +180mV(SEC) in the Tytin as high copper amalgams. 2. ${\gamma}_2$ phase in the low copper amalgam and ${\eta}$ phase in the high copper amalgam were the most corrodible phases and Ag-Cu eutectic in high copper amalgam was the most slowly corroded phase. 3. Low copper amalgam was more susceptible in corrosion than high copper amalgam.

  • 모세관 기체크로마토그래피에 의한 cyclodextrin 정지상들(PH-${\beta}$-CD, DA-${\beta}$-CD, TA-${\gamma}$-CD)을 이용하여 라세미 알코올들과 그 유도체들의 분리를 연구하였다. 실험에 사용한 모든 알코올들은 trifluoro acetic anhydride, acetic anhydride, trichloro acetic anhydride를 써서 유도화하였다. 거울상체들의 분리선택성은 acylation 시약의 형태에 상당히 의존하는 것을 알았다. 알코올과 그 유도체들의 광학분활에 대한 최상의 실험조건은 용질분자들의 극성에 따라 다르다. 그리고 키랄분리에 관해서 온도, 컬럼이 극성, 수소 결합력, 알코올과 CD 정지상의 입체효과 등의 의존에 관한 연구를 행하였다. 키랄 인식 기구는 키랄 정지상의 종류에 의존하지 않고, 라세미 알코올의 유도체화에 의존하는 것으로 나타났다.

대두의 발아 및 성숙과정중 토코페롤과 지방산의 변화 (Changes in concentration of tocopherols and fatty acids during germination and maturation of soybean(Glycine max))

  • 대두의 발아 및 종실의 성숙과정중 토코페롤 및 지방산 함량의 변화를 알아보기 위하여 발아과정은 실험실에서 명조건과 암조건으로 구분하여 수행하였고, 종실의 성숙과정 시험은 포장에서 실시하였으며, 토코페롤과 지방산의 함량은 HPLC와 GC를 사용하여 분석하였다. 발아과정중 각 토코페롤 및 지방질 함량은 배축부의 길이가 약 10 cm로 생육시 가장 높았으며, 발아과정 후기에서는 명조건하의 ${\alpha}-$토코페롤을 제외하고 모두 감소하였다. 종실의 초기 생성과정중 ${\delta}-$토코페롤은 가장 높은 함량을 보였으나 성숙과정의 진행과 동시에 점차 감소되었고, 역으로 ${\gamma}-$${\alpha}-$토코페롤은 종실의 성숙과정중 꾸준히 증가하였다. 성숙과정중 종실의 유지함량은 초기단계에서 현저하게 증가하였고, 지방산조성의 변화에서는 점진적인 oleic acid의 감소와 더불어 linoleic acid의 증가가 관찰되었다. 토코페롤 동족체들과 지방산들 사이의 상관성을 검토한 결과, 일부 처리구간에서 정의 상관관계가 인정되었다.

Cu를 함유한 HSLA-100강 용접 열 영향부의 인성에 미치는 후열처리의 영향 (The effects of PWHT on the toughness of weld HAZ in Cu-containing HSLA-100 steel)

  • A study was made to examine the effects of postweld heat treatment(PWHT) on the toughness and microstructures in the weld heat affected zone(HAZ) of Cu-bearing HSLA-100 steel. The Gleeble thermal/mechanical simulator was used to simulate the weld HAZ. The details between toughness and PWHT of HAZ were studied by impact test, optical microscopy(O.M.), scanning electron microscopy (SEM), transmission electron microscopy(TEM) and differential scanning calorimetry(DSC). The decrease of HAZ toughness in single thermal cycle comparing to base plate is ascribed to the coarsed-grain formed by heating to 1350.deg.C. The increase of HAZ toughness in double thermal cycle comparine to single thermal cycle is due to the fine ferrite(.alpha.) grain transformed from austenite(.gamma.)formed by heating to .alpha./.gamma. two phase region. Cu precipitated during aging for increasing the strength of base metal is dissolved during single thermal cycle to 1350.deg.C and is precipitated little on cooling and heating during subsequent weld thermal cycle. It precipitates by introducing PWHT. Thus, the decrease of toughness in triple thermal cycle of $T_{p1}$ = 1350.deg.C, $T_{p2}$ = 800.deg.C and $T_{p3}$ = 500.deg.C does not occur owing to the precipitation of Cu. The behaviors of Cu=precipitates in HAZ is similar to that in base plate. PWHT at 550.deg.C shows highest hardness and lowest toughness, whereas PWHT at 650.deg.C shows reasonable toughness, which improves the toughness of as-welded state.state.

황기(黃芪) 추출물의 외용 도포가 자발성 원형탈모 생쥐에 미치는 영향 (Effects of Topical application of Astragalus membranaceus in Spontaneous Alopecia Mice Model)

  • Objectives: Astragalus membranaceus has been reported to inhibit immune responses, but its effect on hair loss is not clear. In this study, the effect of A. membranaceus extract (AM) on hair regrowth in C57BL/6 mice with natural hair loss in the telogen phase was investigated. Methods: Mice with natural hair loss were topically treated with 1% AM on the dorsal skin for 2 weeks. Dorsal skin samples were stained with hematoxylin and eosin and probed with an anti-mouse CD8a IgG. The mRNA expression levels of tumor necrosis factor $(TNF)-{\alpha}$, interferon $(IFN)-{\gamma}$ and interleukin (IL)-4 were measured by reverse transcription polymerase chain reaction and quantitative real-time polymerase chain reaction. Results: AM treatment induced hair regrowth in hair loss mice, while control mice suffered continued hair loss. Tapering hair shafts and broken hair follicles were decreased as well as CD8+ T lymphocyte infiltration. In addition, the expressions of $TNF-{\alpha}$, $IFN-{\gamma}$ and IL-4 were reduced by AM treatment. Also, AM treatment significantly increased the KGF expressions in Hs68 fibroblast cells. Conclusion: These results suggest that topical application of A. membranaceus may be an alternative therapy for hair loss.

$^{99m}TcO^-{_4}$의 메틸-에틸-케톤-간편 추출법 (A Convenient Method on the Methyl-Ethyl-Ketone Extraction of $^{99m}TcO^-{_4}$)

  • 간편형으로 $^{99m}Tc$-메틸-에틸-케톤(MEK) 추출법을 개량하고 이동 가능형으로 $^{99m}Tc$추출 장치를 설계하였다. $^{99m}TcO^-{_4}$의 MEK 추출 및 상 분리를 한 용기에서 하도록 하여 조작을 간편하게 하였으며 $^{99}Mo$의 방사능 차폐를 한개의 납용기로 할 수 있도록 하였다. $^{99m}TcO^-{_4}({\gamma}_e=0.14\;MeV)$를 분리차폐를 하여 장치를 간소화하였다. $^{99m}Tc-MEK$ 추출액중의 $^{99m}TcO^-{_4}$를 흡착 및 용리만에 의하여 회수할 수 있도록 하며 방사능 휘발 가능성을 줄이었고 알루미나 칼람을 소형으로 하여 $^{99m}TcO^-{_4}$염 제품의 부피를 1 ml로 줄이고 칼람 조작시간을 단축하였다. $^{99m}Tc$ 분리시간을 30분대로 줄이고 조작을 차폐밖에서 할 수 있도록 하였다. 장치를 무균 조작할 수 있도록 설계하였다.

결정학적 방위에 의존하는 $Ni_3Al$ 단결정의 변형거동에 관한 연구 (A Study on the Deformation Behaviors of $Ni_3Al$ Single Crystals Depending on Crystallographic Orientations)

  • An investigation of the deformation behavior of ${\gamma}'-Ni_3Al$ single crystals containing fine dispersion of disordered ${\gamma}$ particles was performed for several different crystal orientations. Deformation structures were observed by the weak-beam method of transmission electron microscopy (TEM). The critical resolved shear stress (CRSS) for (111) [$\bar{1}$01] slie. increases with increasing temperature in the temperature range where (111) slip operates. The CRSS for (111) [$\bar{1}$01] slip is dependent on crystal orientation in the corresponding temperature range. The temperature where the strenjlth reaches a maximum is dependent on crystal orientation; the higher the ratio of the Schmid factors of (010) [$\bar{1}$01] to that of (111) [$\bar{1}$01], the higher the peak temperature. The peak temperatures were increased by the precipitation of y particles for the samples of all orientations. Electron microscopy of deformation induced dislocation arrangements under peak temperature has revealed that most of dislocations are straight screw dislocations. The mobility of screw dislocations decreases with increasing temperature. Above the peak temperature, dislocations begin to cross slip from the (111) [$\bar{1}$01] slip system to the (010) [$\bar{1}$01] slip system, thus decreasing the strength.

ZDP(Zinc Decomposition Process)를 이용한 폐 초경합금의 분해기구 (Decomposition Mechanism of Waste Hard Metals using by ZDP (Zinc Decomposition Process))

  • Decomposition promoting factors and decomposition mechanism in the zinc decomposition process of waste hard metals which are composed mostly of tungsten carbide and cobalt were evaluated. Zinc volatility amount was suppressed and zinc valatilization pressure was produced in the reaction graphite crucible inside an electric furnace for ZDP. Reaction was done for 2 h at $650^{\circ}C$, which 100 % decomposed the waste hard metals that were over 30 mm thick. As for the separation-decomposition of waste hard metals, zinc melted alloy formed a liquid composed of a mixture of ${\gamma}-{\beta}1$ phase from the cobalt binder layer (reaction interface). The volume of reacted zone was expanded and the waste hard metal layer was decomposed-separated horizontally from the hard metal. Zinc used in the ZDP process was almost completely removed-collected by decantation and volatilization-collection process at $1000^{\circ}C$.

부자의 메탄올 추출물에 의한 신세포암의 증식억제 및 세포사멸 유도 (Inhibition of Cell Proliferation and Induction of Apoptosis by Methanolic Extract of Aconiti Tuber in Human Renal Cell Carcinoma Cells)

  • Aconiti Tuber is a traditional medicinal plant generally used in Oriental medicine therapy. In this study, we investigated the biochemical mechanisms of anti-proliferative effects by the methanol extract of Aconiti tuber (MEBJ) in Caki-1 human renal cell carcinoma cells. It was found that MEBJ could inhibit, in a dose-dependent manner, cell growth which was associated with apoptotic cell death such as formation of apoptotic bodies, DNA fragmentation and increased populations of apoptotic-sub G1 phase. Apoptosis of Caki-1 cells by MEBJ was associated with an up-regulation of pro-apoptotic Bax expression, and a down-regulation of anti-apoptotic Bcl-2 in a dose-dependent manner; however, the levels of IAP family were not affected. MEBJ treatment also induced the proteolytic activation of caspase-3 and -8, and a inhibition of poly(ADP-ribose) polymerase (PARP) and $PLC{\gamma}1$ protein. Furthermore, MEBJ treatment caused a dose-dependent inhibition of iNOS and cyclooxygenase-2 (Cox-2). Though further studies will be needed to identify the active compounds that confer the anti-cancer activity of MEBJ, the present findings provide important new insights into the possible molecular mechanisms of the apoptotic activity of MEBJ in cancer cells.

팔각회향 dichloromethane 분획물에 의한 지방세포 분화 억제 효과 (Inhibitory Effects of Illicium verum Hooker fil. Dichloromethane Fractions on Adipocyte Differentiation)

  • 비만은 에너지의 불균형으로 인하여 체내 지방조직에 지방이 축적되는 대사성질환으로 심혈관계 질환, 고혈압, 2형 당뇨, 고지혈증 및 각종 암의 발생 빈도를 증가시키는 요인이다. 지방의 축적은 지방전구세포가 지방세포로 분화하는 과정을 의미하는 adipogenesis라는 과정을 거쳐서 일어난다. 지방세포로의 분화는 다양한 호르몬과 전사인자들의 상호작용에 의해서 일어난다. 본 연구에서는 팔각회향이 항비만 소재로 활용 가능한지 확인하기 위해, 팔각회향 물 추출물을 분획하여 지방축적 억제 활성이 좋은 dichloromethane층을 선정하였다. 3T3-L1 지방전구세포가 성숙한 지방세포로 분화할 때 팔각회향 dichloromethane 층이 어떠한 기전으로 분화를 조절하는지 확인한 결과, 지방세포 분화에서 중요한 전사인자인 C/EBP family, $PPAR{\gamma}$의 발현이 억제되었고, 지방세포 최종 분화 마커로 알려져 있는 FAS 및 LPL의 발현 또한 감소되었다. 또한 G1기에서의 세포주기 정지를 통해 지방세포 분화 단계에서 필수적인 mitotic clonal expansion 단계를 억제한다는 결과를 얻었다. 이러한 연구 결과는 팔각회향이 항비만 효과를 가지는 천연물 소재로의 활용가능성을 보여주는 기초 자료가 될 것으로 사료된다.
