Abstract

The purpose of the study is to investigate the effectiveness of integrative Korean medicine treatment for a patient with dropped head syndrome. The patient was treated with Korean medicine focused on acupuncture, electro-acupuncture, wet cupping therapy for 30 days. A patient was evaluated through range of motion (ROM) of cervical-spine (C-spine), measurement of occiput to wall distance, numeric rating scale (NRS), neck disability index (NDI). The ROM of C-spine and measurement of occiput to wall distance were improved. In the case of NRS, 6 was reduced to 2 and NDI dropped from 39 to 23. This study suggests that Korean medicine treatment can be considered as effective for dropped head syndrome.
