초록

This exploratory study investigates the factors influencing Aging in Place (AIP) intentions among elderly individuals living alone in public rental housing in Seoul. Using the 2019 public housing panel data from the Seoul Housing and Communities Corporation (SH), an ordered logistic regression model was applied to 485 elderly single households. The analysis revealed several key findings. First, cross-tabulation analysis showed variations in AIP intentions based on socio-demographic factors. Second, the general ordered logit regression model indicated that house interiors and elderly-friendly amenities positively impacted AIP intentions, while active neighborhood interactions had a negative effect. Third, the age-specific ordered logit regression model found that rental housing types and interior facilities positively influenced those in their 60s, whereas longer residence duration and higher quality exterior amenities benefited those in their 80s. These findings highlight the complex relationship between AIP and environmental factors in public housing, suggesting the need for a more detailed causal analysis to guide future improvements.
