Development and Application of Teacher Education Programs to Enhance Elementary School Teachers' Digital AI Literacy Teaching Capabilities

Abstract

In the era of great Digital Transformation, the whole world is concentrating its efforts on nurturing talented people who will adapt well to the rapidly changing Digital World. In Korea, under the educational goal of fostering 1 million digital talents, efforts are being made to nurture digital talents throughout society including schools. In order to nurture digital talent, the teaching capacity of teachers must be strengthened above all else. In preparation for this, various teacher reeducation plans are being prepared, and teacher training is being conducted to strengthen teachers' Digital·AI teaching capabilities centered on some education offices and leading schools. However, there is no systematic curriculum or program for strengthening teaching capacity yet, so it is experiencing difficulties. Therefore, in this study, a Digital·AI teaching competency strengthening education program using Google was developed, applied to the experimental class, and its effectiveness was verified through a pre-post matching sample t-test. As a result, statistically significant improvements were shown in all four sub-areas designed to enhance Digital·AI teaching capabilities: understanding of Digital·AI, utilization of Digital·AI, and education on Digital·AI ethics. It was found that the educational program for strengthening Digital·AI literacy teaching capability using Google was effective.

디지털 대전환 시대를 맞이하여 전 세계는 빠르게 변화하는 디지털 세상에 잘 적응하여 살아갈 인재 양성에 총력을 기울이고 있다. 우리나라에서도 디지털 인재 100만 양성이라는 교육 목표 아래 학교 현장을 비롯한 사회 전반에 디지털 인재를 양성하고자 노력하고 있다. 디지털 인재를 양성하기 위해서는 무엇보다 교사의 교수 역량이 강화되어야 하기에 이에 대비한 각종 교사 재교육 방안이 준비 중이며 일부 교육청과 선도학교를 중심으로 교사의 디지털·AI 리터러시 교수 역량 강화를 위한 교사 연수를 실시하고 있다. 하지만 아직 이에 대한 체계적인 교수 역량 강화 교육 커리큘럼이나 프로그램이 제시된 바 없어 어려움을 겪고 있다. 따라서 본 연구에서는 구글을 활용한 디지털·AI 리터러시 교수 역량 강화 교육 프로그램을 개발하여 이를 교사 연수 프로그램에 적용, 사전-사후 대응표본 t-test를 통해 그 효과성을 검증하였다. 그 결과 디지털·AI 리터러시 교수 역량을 키우기 위해 마련된 네 가지 세부 영역인 디지털·AI 이해, 디지털·AI 활용, 디지털·AI 윤리교육에서 모두 통계적으로 유의미하게 향상된 결과를 나타내어 구글을 활용한 디지털·AI 리터러시 교수 역량 강화 교육 프로그램이 효과적임을 알 수 있었다.
