Abstract

This study was conducted with the purpose of exploring instructional design strategies for the effective operation of university online classes in the face-to-face transition due to the COVID-19 pandemic. As a research method for this purpose, previous studies were reviewed and cases of university online classes were analyzed. As a result, first, sequential instructional design and dynamic instructional design that can be used in online classes were presented. Second, the characteristics of authoring tools that can be used in synchronous, asynchronous, and hybrid classes were analyzed. Finally, after conducting online classes using sequential instructional design and dynamic instructional design, the effectiveness was analyzed by comparing lecture evaluation scores. In the course evaluation score consisting of teaching method, interaction, and class satisfaction, the sequential instructional design showed higher scores in the teaching method and class satisfaction items, while the dynamic instructional design showed higher lecture evaluation scores in the interaction item.
