이영순의 장시 「연희고지」(1951) 연구

The study of Lee YoungSoon's long poems 「Yenheegoji」

본 연구는 이영순의 시집 『연희고지』(1951)를 중심으로 장시에 대한 장르인식과 기법적 특성을 조명하였다. 이 시집은 6·25전쟁을 직접체험하고 전쟁의 현실을 직시하고자 한 시정신에서 출발한 작품이다. 시인 자신이 군인으로서 직접 연희고지 전투에 참여하였고, 부상당한 채 사투를 벌인 체험을 증언하고자 장시를 선택한 것이다. 「연희고지」는 전투현장에 대한 생생한 전달과 내면적 고통을 문학적으로 형상화한 서술양식에 주목할 수 있다. 전투의 현장의 묘사는 영화적 기법을 사용한 장면제시를 객관적 서술양식으로 표현하여 사실성을 확보하고 있다. 또한 사투 속에서 겪은 개인적인 내면의 고통은 주관적 서술양식으로 표현하여 서정성을 얻고 있다. 이영순은 6·25전쟁의 비극성을 서사장르가 갖는 현실에 대한 시적 대응의 한 방법으로 장시를 선택한 것이다. 그러므로 「연희고지」의 서술양식은 치열한 전투상황과 전쟁의 비참함을 효과적으로 전달하려는 기법을 통해 1950년대 전쟁시의 새로운 모색을 시도한 것으로 평가할 수 있다.

This thesis studied technical character and understanding genre aboutlong poems on Lee YoungSoon's poetical work Yenheegoji. This workstarted from the soul of poetry to experience the Korea War and recognize exactly the reality of the war. Lee YoungSoon entered the Yenheegoji war as soldier, and wrote long poems to testify painful war experiences.Yenheegoji is excellent in describing accurately the site of the battle and inner agony. The portrayal of the battle's site used cinematic skills and the battle scene used objective description form. So this poeticalwork Yenheegoji secured realism. Also inner agony through the war is comprised in subjective description form and his work got lyricism.Lee YoungSoon choose long poems to express the Korea War tragedyin the way to confront the realities of life of narrative genre. In short, Yenheegoji's method of description challenged 1950's war poetry's newdirection by the technique that economically convey fierce battle situation and misery of battle.
