Abstract

Domestic traditional fortress structures are located at the mountainous area and receive the various loads including the self weight and the lateral load due to the soil pressure at the same time. Especially, the lateral load due to the soil pressure increases as it goes downward, and various damage patterns occur as the influence of the lateral load increases at the lower part of the fortress structure. Damages in the lower part of the fortress structure cause various structural problems such as unequal load distribution and stress concentration of the structure, and accordingly, countermeasures against such problems are required. Therefore, this study selects the representative model reflecting the damage patterns of the lower part of the fortress structure. In addition, structural modeling and structural analysis reflecting the characteristics of discontinuities are performed to evaluate the structural behavior of fortress structure.
