A Study on the Development of a Metadata Schema for the Food Education Digital Library

식생활교육 디지털도서관을 위한 메타데이터 요소 개발에 관한 연구

Abstract

This study reports on the development of a metadata schema and an information retrieval system for the Food Education Digital Library project initiated by the Ministry of Agriculture, Food and Rural Affairs and Korea Food Education Network. The metadata schema developed using MODS describes various types of food & nutrition education materials and helps users discover and identify appropriate materials. The implemented information retrieval system supports various search options such as keyword and directory search as well as search for holdings of the library and linked materials.

본 논문은 농림축산식품부와 식생활교육국민네트워크에서 추진한 식생활교육 디지털도서관 구축 사업의 일환으로 식생활교육 자료에 대한 메타데이터 요소를 개발하고 검색시스템을 구현한 사례를 기술한다. 메타데이터 요소들은 MODS를 근간으로 하여 이용자들이 쉽게 식생활 관련 교육 자료를 발견 식별할 수 있도록 개별 자료에 대한 적절한 기술을 제공하면서 동시에 다양한 식생활교육 자료를 포괄할 수 있도록 설계하였다. 구현된 검색시스템은 소장자료 검색, 내부검색, 외부검색 및 키워드 검색과 디렉토리 검색 등 다양한 검색방법을 제공하여 이용자들 수준에 맞게 선택하여 검색할 수 있도록 하였다.
