In 2012, Korean overseas construction market has achieved 64.9 billion dollars of contract amount and its amount has increased since the mid of 2000's. However, it is the time to consider countermeasures on the change of overseas construction environment. As the Local Contents Policy is getting strengthened, an ordering organization forces a constructor to take local materials and subcontractors over regular part, and even restrict manpower of the constructor. For this reason, the importance of subcontractor management is especially emphasized in the overseas market. In order to select major subcontract processes, professionals based on Master Format on the overseas construction projects were participated to fill up questionnaires. The collected data were analyzed by Benefit-Structure Analysis(BSA) model. The findings of this study include: (1) the seven subcontract processes are positioned in the area of importance control factor; and the eight subcontract processes are positioned in the area of maintenance/control factor. (2) Securing management capability is needed for the processes in the area of importance control factor. Also, for maintenance/control factor area, sustainable management system is required. This research suggested and evaluated the major managerial subcontract processes for domestic construction company planning to extend to overseas market. Although this study is carried out with some limitations, it is expected to provide primary information and strategies for selecting and managing subcontractors. The further research is planned to include the survey of the various areas and work types for buildings to derive the regional characteristics.
