Abstract
The purpose of this study is to evaluate the structural behavior and shear strength of RC beams with multiple web openings that are constructed by using square steel tube. One regular RC beam and six multiple web opening beam(MWOB) specimens were manufactured and tested under monotonic loading. It was evaluated by structural experiment of MWOB through comparison of failure mode, load-deflection curves, ductility and ultimate load ratio according to the $d_0$ and $d_0$/h, X/h. To evaluate the shear strength of MWOB, this study utilizes equation of the shear strength design suggested by the previous researcher and provisions. Test results showed that the ultimate load of the $d_0$=200 specimens were approximately 2.7% to 3.62% less than that of the regular RC beam, while their ductility behavior was better than the regular RC beam. Also, in case of $d_0$=150 specimens, they showed good ductility and ultimate load behavior except for several specimens. $V_u/V_{u,cal}$ showed remarkably tendency of overestimation according to increase of $d_0$ and area of web openings, X/h in the proposal equation of previous researcher. On the other hand, $V_u/V_{u,cal}$ is superior in conformability with an experiment result AIJ provision among other equations. I believe that a more in-depth study using various variables of multiple web openings reinforced with square steel tube that complement the shortcomings such as inaccurate equation for shear strength evaluation which are known as the disadvantaged of existing equations should be performed in the future based on this study.
