Abstract
In this study, we intended to evaluate the ductility of the high strength mortar-filled mechanical sleeve bar splices more adequately. For this goal, we analyzed and examined the existing experiment results of 224 actual size splices specimens, the test variables of which were compressive strength of mortar, reinforcement development length, sleeve type and loading method, etc. The research results showed that the minimum of $f_m*$(L/d)($f_m$ is compressive strength of mortar and L/d is the ratio of rebar development length to reinforcement diameter) were proposed for retaining the ductility capacity of the mortar-filled mechanical sleeve splice provided in AIJ code. Also, the result of this study indicated that the sleeve shape of the bar splices had influence on the ductility of mortar-filled sleeve splices.
