The Study on the Standards of Thesaurus Construction Based on ISO 25964

ISO 25964를 통해 살펴본 시소러스 구축 표준에 관한 연구

Abstract

Despite a long tradition and rich discussion of thesaurus construction, more research is needed to make standards for thesaurus construction applicable to practice. Recently, in order to reflect changing information technology environment, and provide consistency of terms and abbreviations of standards, ISO committee has been planning to publish ISO 25964. Therefore, the study introduces ISO 25964, reveals main focal points of ISO 25964, and finally discusses suggestions to improve ISO 25964. The study employs qualitative content analysis of ISO 25964, ISO 2788: 1986, and ANSI/NISO Z39.19 - 2005.

시소러스 제작과 개발을 위한 지침을 제공하기 위하여 여러 표준이 발표되고 있으며, 지난 수십 년간 여러 시소러스가 구축되었음에도 불구하고, 시소러스 구축을 위한 가이드라인 및 표준 발전 연구의 계속성은 이루어지지 않고 있다. 최근 ISO 25964 표준 제정 프로젝트는 변화하는 정보기술 환경에 맞게 시소러스 표준을 개정하여, 표준 사이에 각기 다르게 사용되던 용어 및 약어의 사용을 일관성 있게 함으로써 시소러스 표준의 실효성을 높이고자 하는 목적으로 진행되고 있다. 이에 본 연구는 ISO 25964를 소개하고 ISO 25964가 범용되기 위하여 향상되어야 할 점을 제시하였다. 이를 위해 시소러스 표준 ISO 2788: 1986, ANSI/NISO Z39.19-2005와의 비교분석이 이루어졌다. 본 연구를 통해 시소러스 구축표준을 살펴봄으로써 표준을 기반으로 한 시소러스 구축 실제를 조력하고자 하였다.
