A Case Report of Child Aphasia

Abstract

Objectives : The purpose of this study is to report a case showed some clinical improvement in treating child aphasia with oriental medicine. Methods : The patient had some problems in communication, intelligence and behaviors due to aphasia after brain injury caused by epilepsy. We treated the patient with herbal medicine(Yangsintangkamibang), acupuncture, verbal remediation and intelligence-learning treatment. We observed the clinical progress of aphasia and evaluated the case with PRES. Results : Oriental medical treatment alleviated patient's symptoms of aphasia and PRES was also improved. Conclusions : This study shows oriental medicine can be a meaningful treatment for child aphasia, and more studies for oriental medical treatment for child aphasia is needed.
