Abstract

A plasma treatment using saturated $CF_{4}$ gas was employed to improve the surface characteristics of PVA films. PVA films were treated for different treatment times, at various discharge powers and reaction pressures. The water contact angle of the $CF_{4}$ plasma-treated PVA films increased, and surfaces of different chemical composition resulted from $CF_{4}$ plasma treatment.
