A study on the standard resolution technology of ISBN as URN

Abstract

ISBN is ISO standard numbering system for the off-line books. In 2001, IETF RFC 3187 described the conceptual specification of ISBN as URN. This paper focus on the system architecture, DB content and resolution system of the ISBN supporting system based on the standard system called DDDS which is the standard system described in IETF for URN resolution.

ISBN은 국제도서표준번호 체계로 인쇄된 도서의 식별체계로 활용되고 있으며, 2001년 10월 IETF RFC3187에서 ISBN을 URN에 적용하기 위한 개념적 규격을 제시하였다. 본 논문에서는 모든 URN 체계에게 권장하는 표준인 DDDS 알고리즘을 이용하여 RFC3197의 개념 규격을 구체적으로 구현하면서 필요한 구조, 예상되는 내용, 그리고 변환 과정에 관한 연구를 진행하였다.
