Abstract

Textile type geogrid having 8 ton/m designed strength was used to interpretate the long-term deformation behaviors through the short-term accelerated creep tests. TTS(time-temperature superposition principle) and SIM(stepped isothermal method) were applied to examine the creep behaviors of this geogrid. Applied loads for these creep tests were calculated in accordance with wide-width tensile strength of geogrid, 8.78 ton/m. Critical creep strain for 60% of applied load was within 9.61 and 9.48 for TTS and SIM, respectively. Very similar values suggest that SIM is a very reasonable short-term accelerated creep test to interpretate the long-term deformation behaviors of geogrids.
