Abstract
An attempt was made to confirm the possibility of imparting functionalities on cellulose fabrics with chitosan. A series of chitosan in aqueous acetic acid solution were added on cellulose fabrics by padding method. Functionalities were pointed on antibiosis, air permeability, static charge, deodorization, and moisture absorption. It is known that more than 0.5 wt% of chitosan content is required to a bacteriostatic ratio greater than 90%. Increase in add-on ratio resulted in increased air permeability, static charge, deodorization, and moisture adsorption.
