An Empirical Assessment of Critical Success Factors for Strategic Information Systems Planning

전략적 정보시스템 계획의 주요성공요인에 대한 실증분석

Abstract

For many organization, a strategic information systems planning (SISP) continues to be a critical issue. This paper is an empirical study of what is being done in Korea with respect to SISP. A survey questionnaire was mailed to the major 1000 Korean companies. In this research, the experiences of 51 companies contribute the SISP practices including the success factor of SISP. Forty-three percent of the respondents indicated that their companies undertook some form of SISP. We also compared finding with the state of SISP practices in Singapore.

정보시스템계획이 효과적으로 수행되지 못하면, 정보시스템의 개발 후에도 조직의 목표달성에 도움을 주지 못하게 되므로, 기회 및 비용의 손실뿐 아니라 정보시스템 자원의 낭비를 가져올 가능성이 매우 크다. 본 연구는 전략적 정보시스템 계획의 성공요인을 중심으로 국내기업의 전략적 정보시스템 계획 수준과 전략적 정보시스템 계획 수립에 필요한 요인들을 설문조사를 통해서 분석하였다. 실증 연구의 설계는 첫째 전략적 정보시스템 계획 수립 여부에 영향을 주는 요인들을 조사하고, 둘째 주요성공요인을 중심으로 포괄적인 전략적 정보시스템 계획 현황을 조사하며, 셋째 전략적 정보시스템 계획이 없을 경우, 그 이유를 조사하였다.
