Abstract
An environmentally friendly artificial suede manufacturing procedure was suggested to lower the manufacturing cost and make quality control earlier by improving the working condition. This procedure was bated on the binding of fibers through hot melt pressing of polyetherester(PEE) microfibers in the elastic cation dyeable polyester(CDP)/PEE islands-in-a sea tiber. polyurethane impregnation. PVA treatment, and slicing which are required in the conventional process could be eliminated. The environmentally-friendly procedure of multi-layered nonwovens was compared with the conventional one in terms of the shrinkage of area, the rate of alkaline hydrolysis, and sanding charaterisitics.
