Abstract

Tension variation of cotton yarn in a circular knitting machine was studied. A test rig ws developed to measure the tension variation of cotton yarn during feeding. Yarn feed roller, yarn guides and tension measuring sensors were introduced to the test rig. Results showed that the tensionvariation of cotton yarn was not affected by yarn feeding speed, feeding angle or type of needle but was affected by yarn input tension.
