The public libraries have managed reading classroom as a way of life-long education. This reading education is very important to children and young people. But reading education program done by the public libraries is not scientific and systematic. The purpose of this study are to identify real situation of the reading classroom management program through a practical materials(ex: the schedule of reading classroom) and a questionnaire survey of librarians managing this program and to provide developing model for effective reading education management program in public library.
공공도서관에서 수행되어온 독서교실은 어려서부터 독서의 즐거움과 필요성을 깨닫게 하고, 올바른 독서태도를 길러 스스로 즐겨 독서하는 습관을 갖게 하며, 도서관에서의 폭넓은 학습경험으로 도서관 이용을 생활화하려는 것이 목적이다. 이러한 평생교육 차원에서 독서교실을 통한 독서교육은 어린이나 학생에게 매우 중요하다. 따라서 본 연구는 현재 공공도서관에서 수행되고 있는 독서교실 운영 실태를 조사 분석하여 독서교실 운영 프로그램 모형을 제시하여 독서교육이 좀더 과학적이고 체계적으로 이루어지는데 기여하고자 한다.
