Abstract
The increase of the spindle speed for high productivity in ring spinning process has been limited by the spinning tension and friction between the traveller and ring. The rotating ring is one of the ways to be able to solve this problem. Experiments with the rotating ring of saw toothed supporting type were performed. The variation of surface temperature, rotational speed of rotating ring, and spinning tension between front roller and snaill wire were investigated. The results show that the spinning tension of rotating ring is smaller than that of fixed ring, and the rotating ring is easy to rotate with the increase of traveller weight.
