현재 우리가 흔히 사용하고 있는 컴퓨터의 인터페이스는 모든 사용자들이 주어진 환경에 적응하여 사용하도록 유도, 강요하는 일반화된 형태이다. 하지만 사용자의 요구는 매우 다양하며 일반 환경과는 쉽게 부합될 수 없는 사용자 환경을 가지는 계층이 존재한다. 이러한 요구에 대응하여 본 연구는 '비언어적 의사소통 방법'을 제안하였다. 제안된 방법은 인간의 여러 행동 양식 중 입을 통한 '불기(blowing)'를 컴퓨터와의 상호작용에 적용시키는 것인데, 이것은 세 가지의 형식으로 제안되었다. 첫 번째는 그림을 그리는 프로그램이고, 두 번째는 아케이드 형식의 게임이며, 세 번째는 이야기를 전개하는 인터랙티브 북이다. 그 결과로, 본 연구에서 제안된 방법들이 향후, 인간과 컴퓨터 사이의 인터페이스 개발에 효과적으로 활용될 수 있음을 확인하였다.
