Abstract
The purpose of this study is to provide basic concepts and ideas to the developmental approach for expanding digital libraries that support internal cyber universities in its current early stage. It examines present conditions of both internal and external cyber universities. fundamental elements of digital libraries, and technologies associated with digital libraries. Furthermore, the study discusses user-centered Libraries, and defines the roles of librarians in managing an effective digital library.
본 논문의 목적은 초기 단계에 있는 국내 가상대학과 이를 지원하는 디지털도서관의 발전적인 구축방향에 도움이 될 수 있는 기초자료를 제공하려는 것이다. 따라서 1) 국내외 가상대학의 현황, 2) 국내외 디지털도서관의 현황, 3) 디지털도서관의 구성요소 및 디지털도서관 구축 관련 기술에 대하여 조사한다 더 나아가 최근에 더욱 관심을 모으고 있는 4) '이용자 중심의 디지털도서관'과 5) 디지털도서관을 효과적으로 운영하기 위한 바람직한 사서의 역할을 재조명한다. 가상대학과 디지털도서관 모두 국외와 비교할 때 아직 미진한 단계에 있으며, 궁극적으로 가상대학을 지원하는 디지털도서관은 정보의 내용, 정보기술, 이용자 교육과 훈련이라는 세 가지 구성요소가 이용자 중심의 디지털도서관이 되도록 상호보완 작용이 되어야 한다.
