Abstract
Poly(methyl methacrylate) (PMMA), poly(methyl methacrylate-co-acrylamide) (CPMA), and poly(methyl methacrylate-co-N,N-dimethyl acrylamide) (CPMD) were synthesized and blended with nylon 6. In order to study the hydrolyzability of the blend, thin blend films were immersed in various phosphate buffer solutions at 6$0^{\circ}C$ for 20 days. The degradability of blend films immersed in acidic or basic solution increased with the copolymer content. The blend films of CPMA/nylon 6 and CPMD/nylon 6 showed better mechanical properties than those of PMMA/nylon 6.
