MAGNETIC OVERDENTURE

Magnet는 수십년전에는 치과영역에 간혹 사용되어 왔다. 그러나 rare earth magnet의 개발이후로 총의치나 국소의치의 유지와 안정, 심미성을 위해 많이 사용되고 있다. 자석유지장치의 장점은 단순하며, 의치의 변위시 자동적 재안착이 쉽고, 잔존치근에 측방압을 적게 가하는 점, 장치의 재조정이 필요없다는 점, 다른 유지장치에 비해 상대적으로 저렴한 점등이 있다. 임상에 적용시 특별한 술식이 필요치 않으며 치주적으로 지지상태가 충분치 못한 치근이라 하더라도 의치의 지지와 안정에 사용할 수 있어 임상에 널리 적용할 수 있을 것으로 보인다.
