Abstract
The adsorption amount, reflectance of white cotton fabrics and their correlation were investigated as the function of florescent whitening agent (FWA) concentration and washing temperature in washing liquor. Cyanuric chloride diamino stilbene (CC/DAS) and distyryl bisphenyl (DSBP) were used. The adsorption amount and reflectance of white cotton fabrics increased as FWA concentration increased. The adsorption amount and reflectance of DSBP were higher at low temperature, but that of CC/DAS were higher at high temperature. When same amount of FWA was adsorbed, the reflectances of cotton fabrics by DSBP and DSBP:CC/DAS=3:1 were higher than by CC/DAS.
