Abstract
The unidirectional composites using polypropylene, nylon 6 and polyethylene terephthalate as the matrix fiber and glass fiber as the reinforcement were fabricated under different molding pressure and holding time by using commingled yarn which consists of 40% by volume of glass fibers. We performed three-point bending test, tensile test and examined the influence of holding time, void content, molding pressure, thickness and interlaminar shear strength on the bending and tensile properties. As the molding pressure and holding time increased, the void content and thickness were decreased. Minimum void content of Ny6/GF composites were almost saturated in the molding pressure of 1.0 MPa, holding time of 20 min or in the molding pressure of 2.0 MPa, holding time of 5 min.
