Polyvinylchloride(PVC) polymer was spun to obtain PVC fiber mainly by dry spinning method in the past years. The present study investigated the method to manufacture a PVC fiber by melt spinning method. The PVC polymer mixed with heat resistant agent and lubricant was spun to obtain undrawn fiber. The undrawn fiber was drawn by the wet drawing process, and it was dried and heat-set to give a dimensional stability. The properties of the drawn fiber such as strength, elongation and heat shrinkage were changed with the spinning and drying conditions. The effects of the fiber manufacturing conditions on the properties of the fiber were investigated in this study.
