Abstract
The methanol extracts of AraIia elata showed antimicrobial activity against bacteria. The antimicrobial active principle was successively purified with solvent fractionation, silica gel adsorption column chromatography, Sephadex LH-20 column chromatography, silica gel partition column chromatography and HPLC.
