한글번역판 일반적 심리상태 (Psycological General Well-Being Index) 설문지의 신뢰도에 관한 연구

The Reliability of Translated Korean Psycological General Well-Being Index

배경 및 연구목적 : 저자들은 최근의 임상시험에서 주 결과변수로서 비중이 커지고 있는 삶의 질 (quality of life)을 측정하는 도구 중 하나인 '일반적 심리상태 설문지(PGWBI)' 한글 번역판의 신뢰도를 평가하였다. 연구 대상 및 방법 : 영문판 PGWBI를 영어 및 한국어에 능통한 2인이 한글로 번역하고, 이를 다시 영문판을 모르는 제 3 자에 의해 영문으로 번역한 후(back-translation), 이들 원본, 번역본, 재번역본간의 비교를 통해 문화적 차이, 어의의 미묘한 뉘앙스 등을 고려하여 최종 한글판을 작성하였다. 영어와 한국어를 모두 이해하는 25 - 49세의 건강한 남녀 각 29명씩, 총 58명을 대상으로 2 - 6시간의 간격을 두고 영문판과 한글판 (1회)에, 다시 2일의 시차를 두고 한글판 (2회) 설문지에 자가 응답하게 하였다. 연구결과 : 불안, 우울, 안녕감, 자기조절, 일반적 건강, 생동감 등의 5대 영역별로 영문판, 한글판 (1회), 한글판 (2회) 설문의 Cronbach's alpha는 각각 $0.45{\sim}0.81$(총점 0.96), $0.59{\sim}0.88$(총점 0.97), $0.65{\sim}0.90$(총점 0.98)의 값을 보였고, 설문횟수가 증가함에 따라 상승하는 경향을 나타냈다. 영문판과 한글판(1회), 한글판(1회)과 한글판(2회) 설문사이의 급내상관계수는 각각 $0.78{\sim}0.91$(총점 0.93), $0.66{\sim}0.77$(총점 0.78)로 나타났다. 결 론 : 한글판 PGWBI는 비교적 높은 내적일치도와 일간 신뢰도(interday reliability)를 갖는 삶의 질 측정도구이다.

Background ; Psycological General Well-Being Index (PGWBI) Questionnaire, a widely used scale for measurement of quality of life (QOL) in clinical trials, wag translated into Korean, and a study was undertaken to evaluate the translation validity and reliability of Korean PGWBI version. Methods : Two independent Korean-English bilinguals tranlated the English PGWBI into Korean, followed by backtranslation by another bilingual who did not know the original version, The backtranlated version was compared to the original PGWBI, and retranslated to adjust cross-cultural difference and sentence discrepancies. 58 healthy bilinguals (29 each of males and females), aged 25-49, completed the English and Korean (1st) PGWBI's, 2-6 hours apart, and then Korean version (2nd) again two days later. Results : The internal consistencies for three tests, measured by the Cronbach's alpha, ranged from 0.96 to 0.98 for whole measurements. General health (0.45) was the lowest for the English version, but self-control was the lowest for the Koren PGWBI (0.59 & 0.65, 1st & 2nd test, respectively). For reliability, the intraclass correlation coefficent was 0.93 between English and the first Korean tests, and 0.78 between the first and second Korean tests. Conclusion : The Korean PGWBI could be an useful QOL questionnaire for clinical trials with good reliability.
