The accurate representation of the colors of dyed fabric on a color CRT(cathode ray tube) screen is the basis for the automatic process in dyeing industry. Recently, many dye houses have been equipped with CCM(computer color matching), CCK and CAD(computer aided design) systems. Still, there are some difficulties in managing and analyzing the color. Therefore we attempted to apply the color simulation system. In this experiment, the SPDs(spectral Power distributions) of color CRT was successfully measured with a Uv/vis spectrophotometer and compared with the method known as y(gamma) correction. These results show that the Y correction was improper method to calibrate SPDs of CRT. Obtained SPDs were numerically fitted by the least square method and the excellent correction was achieved. With comparing SPHs of CRT with some CIE standard light, we studied color representation properties of color CRT.
