초록

The ring spinning method is one of the staple yarn manufacturing technologies which are widely used in textile industry. The demands to increase the productivity and to manufacture higher valued products give rise to a higher performance in ring spinning of which the spinning speed is limited by the friction between the traveller and rings as well as by the spinning tension. The Purpose of this study was to elucidate the dynamic behavior of the rotating ring to increase the performance of the ring spinning method without altering the spinning mechanism. The hypotheses were used such as the extemal forces exerted by the traveller acts in the radial direction and the spinning tension in the axial direction of the spindle. The results of this study provided that 1) the movement of rotating ring could be expressed by six differential equations, 2) the ratio of the rotational moment of inertia about a horizontal axis to that about the spindle axis gave a limit to the rotational speed of the ring which can show a stable behavior.
