Abstract
The objective of this study is to find the way to improve current quality of the highly twisted filament fabrics which is one of major product of fabrics in Korea, and to develop a high-value added fabrics such as New Synthetic Polyester Fabrics. For this purpose, highly shrinkable pan of yarns has been spun and drawn, and mixed with low shrinkable path of yarns on air interlacing process to make composite PET filaments with two different shrinkage's. Using these yarns as warp yams, we made fabrics with various weft densities and finishing processes. The mechanical characteristics of these fabrics have been measured with KES-FB system, and analyzed the relationship between mechanical properties and processing parameters of finishing processes. From this comparison, the effects of hand of New Synthetic fabrics are discussed.
