Abstract

An uniaxial stretching was conducted by swell-wet stretching process in three different swelling agents(acetone, methylethylketone, methylacetate) to investigate stretching effect on unstretched cellulose diacetate yarn. The stretching condition, birefringence, molecular orientation, mechanical properties and dyeability of C.I. Disperse Red I and physical properties were investigated. The following results were obtained ; The most suitable concentration and temperature on swell-wet stretching process were 35% acetone, 17.5% methylethylketone, 17.5% methylacetate solution at 25℃, respectively. The results of stretching process for cellulose diacetate yarn showed that the orientation of ke structure, tensile strength and young's modulus increased with increasing drawing ratio, but breaking elongation decreased. The adsorption uptake of the disperse dye by stretched cellulose acetate yarn was higher than that of unstretched one.
